The morning was faster than usual and I tried to have utmost focus in maths class. We were like two weeks away from the exams and I didn't want to take any chances given that I'd already missed out on school for a long period of time, I'm not a hot-brained type of person and I literally don't grab academic stuffs that easily so I'll have to work really hard this time to get my grades.

Plus you know how maths can be, you can be concentrating all the while, getting the steps and point but once you lose focus for a moment and try to get back to the lesson, you get completely lost.

Maths is like another word for hell.

Break time. I was still writing down a few solutions from the board.

I was seriously having a bit of a headache after all those maths solutions.

"Stella, please lend me your book when you're done, I need to update mine," Maddie, a very annoying classmate of mine who happens to be Roxie's new neighbor and friend, said.

The both of them had been chatting, chattering and causing trouble all throughout the lesson.

"And why should I do it? You both should have been writing when I was," I replied.

"We're going to use it together," Roxie continued.

"And how is that suppose to change my mind?"

It felt like Roxie was about to say something but got interrupted by Maddie.

"You know what, Roxie. It's fine, we have over thirty more classmates to ask from. It's maths, everyone offers that," she spat.

"Yeah. Never mind," Roxie said to me.

Is she really just going to allow that, I thought that Roxie was someone that didn't fancy being pushed around to do something she doesn't want to.

Maddie stands up to leave and Roxie was about to but I held back lightly by her wrist.

"You can't just get so close all of a sudden with Maddie. She has very annoying traits. Trust me."

"And when do you need to start pointing out friends I should have and should not?" She replied.

Ouch.

"I'm just trying to help you before it's too late, I've known her for like four years, she's a two faced swindler and she's never straight foward with things. Why do you think she has limited friends, that's because she can't be trusted," I continued.

"So now you're the one limiting my friendship. I can choose to be friends with whoever I want to and I don't just believe what people say about others. Ya'know, some people could just be sharing mere rumors."

"So you think I'm lying to you?" I asked, my voice rising a bit due to my annoyance.

"I didn't say that. Stella. I can't just judge a person based on what others are saying. Just like you, a lot of people always mentioned bad things about you but that didn't stop us from being friends," she argued.

"You're comparing me with Maddie now, we've been friends for over five months, we've shared experience and secrets and you're just going to compare me with someone you just found out two days ago is your new neighbor. Really?" I retorted.
