Chapter 30

Gabby's POV

I finally hung up with Antonio and couldn't help but be frustrated. I mean, I get back together with Matt and I could've already hurt him because of a stupid thing I said in the heart of the moment. I mean, I hope he understands that I love him and I am so glad that we have Matteo, regardless of how we got pregnant.

After hanging up the phone, I grabbed Matt's hand right away and rubbed it. "Baby, you have to know. What I said about our night together...I don't regret a thing. It led us back to each other and it gave us what we always wanted while we were married, a family." Matt looked at me while stroking my hand with his thumb before kissing my forehead.

"Is that an I understand sigh and kiss or, I am trying to find the right thing to say sigh and kiss on the forehead?" Matt looked down at me in my eyes and then whispered to me. "It's a bit of both. Because honestly, I have mixed feelings about that night too. Technically, I think I was dating Brett when you came that night. But it's really not clear."

I nodded while feeling his hand on my arm, rubbing it. "But, looking back at it now....in perspective. I mean, it lead to us getting back together and me making your dream a reality. We have Matteo now. The one thing I never thought I would be able to give you, and something I always wanted to give you when we were married."

He nodded and then smiled at me. "When you put it that way, it sounds a lot better. And I just want to remind you again Gabby, I really appreciate what you risked for me and Matteo. It's one of the reasons I couldn't wait to propose again. Yes, I could've done it better and I could've waited a little longer. But....I needed to do something to say thank you."

I thought about what he said and then got concerned. "So you proposed to me to say thank you for giving birth to a child we both wanted for so long? That's why we're engaged?" Matt stared at me. "Okay, that's not what I said. Remember, you proposed to me at the hospital. I said yes. However, I got down on one knee to give you the ring back."

I sighed and then put my head on his shoulder. I decided to just drop it. "Let's not fight about this. I get what you are trying to say and I really don't want to fight with you about this. We just got back together and we are not going to risk our relationship when we have Matteo now." Matt agreed with me when I said that and just kissed my forehead. We then sat in silence for a little while, letting things cool down before Matteo needed me again.
