Gabby's POV
When I saw Matt look at me and ask if me breastfeeding Matteo hurt at all, I appreciated the fact that he was concerned. It showed me that he was appreciated and respected the fact that I am currently the only one that can feed Matteo. So, no his question is not dumb. And he should already know that. He is a concerned husband, time to remind him that.
"Matt, first of all...that is not a dumb question." He turned to look at me and let out a sigh of relief. I then grabbed his hand and smiled. "And if we are honest, it does hurt but...not in the way you think. Me feeding Matteo actually makes me feel better. It's what I need to relief the pain that comes with breastfeeding. When you are breastfeeding, your breasts get harder."
He nodded and then smiled, grabbing my hand and intertwining our fingers. "I just didn't want you to be in pain just so that you can provide for Matteo. There are other ways of doing things but...if it doesn't hurt, then I am okay with you doing it." I nodded and smiled at him before turning my head to look up at him, giving him a quick kiss.
Matt smiled as I kissed him quickly before hearing his phone ring. It was a text from Severide. "Be careful. The building next to yours is on fire. Might want to evacuate. We are on the northeast corner. Come be with us, we can make sure you're safe." Matt looked at it with alarm. "The northeast corner of the building next to ours is on fire."
I looked at him and got worried. "We are on the northwest corner of our building. What do you want to do?" We both stared at each other and then got out of bed, grabbing both our phones and getting dressed a bit warmer. We then grabbed Matteo before going to get out of the building so that we could be safe in case of an emergency where we have to evacuate anyways.
