Gabby's POV
After eating supper with Antonio, me and Matt decided to call it a night. While it was only 8 pm, we had a long day and needed time to rest. I was currently in the washroom, brushing my teeth when I felt a wave of emotions coming out. I just started crying and knew that I wasn't okay. I thought I could just wipe my tears and act fine but...Matt saw me crying when he walked in.
Moving to hold me in his arms, Matt turned me around and held me close to his chest. "It's gonna be okay Gabby, we are in this together." I nodded before wrapping my arms around his back. I needed to spit so I backed up and when to spit in the sink. "Sorry, needed to spit." Matt just nodded and moved to rub my back. "Promise me you'll be open with me?"
I nodded, knowing that I needed to be open with him with my grief. If we had any chance at working out this time around, I couldn't clam up and be distant again. I didn't want to loose Matt. However, I also didn't want him to push me. "Just don't push me okay? Matt, it's only been 6 hours since we lost our home. I need time to process it all!"
Matt just nodded and then sighed while turning me around to face him. He stepped close to me while putting his hand on my hip. "And I am going to be right here all along the way." He moved his forehead against mine before looking into my eyes. "If you need to cry....I'll hold you in my arms, if you need to yell....I'll take it, you need anything....I will try and give it to you."
I smiled when he said that before grabbing his neck and moving to kiss him softly. "I love you." Matt smiled at me and then rubbed my arm. "I love you too and we are in this together okay?" I nodded and smiled before hugging him. "Brush your teeth and then come to bed. We can talk tomorrow. Tonight, I just need sleep." Matt nodded and smiled as he let me go so he could brush his teeth.
I smiled while walking to the bedroom, knowing we would be okay in the end because this time, we are going to fight to make our marriage work.
