Matt's POV: Walking out to the waiting area, I knew that people were going to be mad when it comes to having to visit in twos. Well, they can visit in threes but...I am not going to tell them that because then they might call me selfish for wanting to be in there during every visit. However, I have a reason why. They are probably going to want to not only see Gabby, but they are going to want to see Matteo as well. Someone needs to keep him calm so Gabby can relax.
Once I get out there, I smile at our friends. "Okay, now that you guys are here...I have strict orders to let you guys visit in groups of two." They all turn to me and smile. Brett and Severide jump up first. "Can we go in? Best friends." I chuckle. "Sorry but, I am under strict orders to follow an order we have agreed upon. That also includes seniority. So chief?" He turns to look at me before I continue. "How about you and Stella come join us in the room?"
He got up and smiled at me. "Is little Matteo here with you guys as well?" I nodded and smiled before looking at everybody. "I promise, you will all get a chance to hold him when we are in the room. But, the visits will be short. Gabby still needs rest and I don't want to over do it. Also, please go wash your hands before you come into the room if you want to hold the baby. You guys just touched the trucks. I don't want two people in the hospital right now."
They all nodded and got up so that they can go to the washroom. I then looked at Chief and Stella. "There's a sink in the room. You guys can wash your hands in there okay?" They both nodded before following me back to Gabby's room so they could see her and meet Matteo.
