Matt's POV
We walked into the apartment together for the first time in months. The apartment looked the same as when she left but, it wasn't the same apartment. Before now, I never spent much time here. Mostly, it was just a place to crash. Too many bad memories here. The worst of all? Our final fight. But now, I was going to be staying here a lot more to make new memories with Gabby and our son. It felt weird saying that but, at the same time....it felt so right.
"Wow, this place hasn't changed much since I last came here. Well, other than all that stuff on the counter which I assume is mostly for this guy." I turned to look at the kitchen, staring at what seemed to be like almost everything we needed for a baby. I went to put Matteo on the dinning room table before walking over with Gabby.
Gabby walked right up to the island and read the note. "From 51 and the Hermanns. Congratulations on the birth of Matteo. Now, you're ready to be parents." I laughed when I heard Gabby say that before walking up behind her. I wrapped my arms around her before kissing her head. "Listen, go get changed okay? I put some clothes for you on the bed. I will take care of Matteo and get bring him into the bedroom so you can feed him when we wakes up."
I watched as she turned to look at me and nodded. She then leaned up and kissed me. But this kiss was different than the ones we had shared in the hospital, it was a kiss like we shared when we were first married. It brought back a lot of memories. God, did I want to just take her in my arms right now and celebrate with her but....we weren't alone now, we had our little miracle.
"Okay, that's enough. You are on bedrest. So, follow doctor's orders and go to bed. Put your PJs on and I will bring Matteo to you. I want to just cuddle as a family right now." Gabby smiled at me and nodded before kissing my cheek. She then walked away to the bedroom, ready to relax with both him and Matteo. This was her dream come true.
