2 Hours Later - Recovery Suite

Gabby's POV

Waking up groggy, I find myself looking around this sterile room...not knowing where I am. What I do know is that I just gave birth and lived, but I am thinking the worst as I get up with tears in my eyes. That's when I hear Matt get up.

"Hey, it's okay." I feel Matt join me on the bed and lay me back down. "Just lay down and rest." I turned to look up at Matt. "Why am I back here?" Matt looked down at me, concerned. "Gabby, you don't remember what happened today? You were at home with Matteo. Your dad....the fight?" I looked at him and then grabbed his hand.

I felt him bend down and kiss my forehead. "I got you Gabby, you're safe and everything is fine. You just need to rest. You have a minor concussion and a few head injuries." I nodded, scared. "How's Matteo?" Matt looked at me and smiled. "Safe with your brother at home. He is probably asleep right now. It's almost noon."

I nodded before moving over, wanting him to join me in bed when I heard Dr. Halstead walk in. "Ah, seems like she's awake now. Gabby, what did I tell you about resting? You already had a high risk pregnancy. Not time to have a fight right now." That's when I heard Matt speak up. "Will, not the time for jokes right now."

He nodded before smiling. "Okay. Listen, I just wanted to let you know that we are going to need to keep you overnight again. I know we just did that when you first gave birth to Matteo 72 hours ago but....with this updated situation, you are going to need to stay a few days again. We already moved you into a private room and we can get you a crib if you want."

I nodded and then looked at Matt. "Antonio was at the house right?" Matt nodded. "I am going to call him and get him to bring Matteo and a bag. We talked while you were asleep. He packed us both some bags to stay a while." Matt got up and then went to grab his phone. Before calling Will spoke up. "Just to let you know, Antonio called the police on your dad. My brother is on the case and wants to talk to you guys. Can I send him in shortly?"

Matt turned to look at me. "No, you rest. I will talk to him after I make the call. I know everything that happened and that's all that matters. You shouldn't have to hear about it." I nodded and then smiled at him. "Just get Matteo here and then go talk to Jay." He smiled and nodded, grabbing his phone before calling Antonio. I turned to look at Will and smiled. "Can you get me another pillow Will? Oh and please, can you put Maggie on my service again...she was amazing."

He chuckled and smiled. "Sure thing. Let me do that for you. Just get Matt to walk out of the room and I will make sure Jay is here waiting for you guys." I nodded and smiled, letting him go.
