Astrid Ninomae and Draco Malfoy did not like each other.

In public.

Though whenever the two met behind closed doors in the dark of night, it was a different story.

That day in the library had been a first but certainly not a last. And although nothing had been verbally discussed it was clear to the two teens involved they had a mutual agreement - they would tolerate the other's company only when working towards their goal of feeding their curiosity and uncovering the mystery of Voldemort's daughter.

Nothing was out of the ordinary as the two kept bickering and grabbing at each other's necks every chance they got. Nobody knew or could even picture the sight of Malfoy and Ninomae sat shoulder to shoulder in the library, sipping on a cup or Eral Grey tea with precisely two spoons of sugar in them and chuckling about how embarrassing it had been when Astrid had sat down in the common room amongst the seventh year girls trying to unsuccessfully spark up a conversation to find out more about them. It hadn't taken long for Astrid to awkwardly excuse herself as she, despite the friendly Viola girl, had been obviously unwanted.

For a small portion of their days, they had learned to put their obvious differences to the side to work towards a collective goal.

Neither would ever admit how much they actually enjoyed the few hour midnight talks they held sitting under a moonlit library window once in a while.

Neither allowed themselves to wonder about why more often than not their conversations tended to trail off to different topics other than what they were researching.

There was only one visible problem Astrid constantly encountered. It was no secret to her roommates that she kept constantly disappearing. The problem with this was she could neither tell them what she was doing, even more so who she was doing it with.

Astrid had managed to continuously steer away from the topic, calling it an all so mysterious secret and constantly threatening Rosier whenever it looked like she was about to open her mouth. The girl didn't know what her roommate knew or if she knew anything at all but Astrid wasn't risking it.

"I think I know where you're going," Daphne spoke up.

Astrid turned from facing the mirror, stopping her motion of applying an excessive amount of white face powder. The girl was quite pale naturally but the look she was going for that Halloween night needed much more of it.

While Daphne had dolled herself up to look like an angel, literally, Astrid was applying a bit of darker eyeshadow under her eyes, forming slight eyebags. Her bangs were clipped to the side, revealing her now pale face. Her hair was gelled a little to give it a bit of an oily look. It was the first time Astrid wore an all-black outfit.

"You're back with Mike and you're embarrassed," the blonde declared with a nod of her head before applying lipgloss over her lips and smooching them together.

"Pft- please..." Astrid scoffed as she returned to the application of her makeup.

Shortly she had put down the eyeshadow pallet and taken a step back, admiring her look.

Not perfect, but close enough.

"No, no, I have a strong inkling it is so. I've seen you around him more often lately."

Astrid had been questioning the lad about Lizabeth Morgan.

"Isn't he with Morgan?" Mills who had decided not to dress up in any specific way questioned from the other side of the room and Daphne instantly pouted in slight disgust.

The blonde turned to her friend with a pointed look. "If you are seeing him as his sidechick, Astrid..." she shook her head. "We don't tolerate chea-"
