Astrid sprung out the entrance of Hogwarts so fast she nearly fell down the slippery steps. She kept shifting from one foot to the other as she waited for the school's caretaker Filch to finally accept her parent permission slip. And when he finally did, the girl didn't hesitate a second before leaping down the stairs she now knew were slippery. Once again, Astrid almost faceplanted but she didn't mind. She was too excited to feel anything else.

Her friends were already waiting for her on the side of the road. They had all almost been outside when Astrid had remembered she didn't take her gloves with her. So she had sprinted back to the dungeons despite Daphne's pleads that she wouldn't even need them. Because Astrid knew she sure would. It was a snowy Hogsmeade day. If they all thought they could go through it without having at least one snow fight with her, they were in for a treat.

Astrid was already flushed and a little sweaty from all the running she had done and the three layers of clothes weren't helping her either. But she had had to be ready. Astrid wore tights under her black wide mom jeans as well as she had a turtleneck shirt, with her favourite grey sweatshirt over it and then also her big light blue winter coat over everything. She felt like a huge cloud and probably looked like one, with her scarf tightly wrapped around her neck, nearly hiding her mouth, and her hat pulled over her head. But she didn't mind. Personally, she liked the way she looked. It was a mess, but, as Daphne had said, a cool mess.

"Ey, Parkinson," she called attracting the attention of the small group of Pansy, Tracey, and Millicent. "Remember what you said about drowning me in a snow pile. I'm up for the challenge."

Obviously, Parkinson's words had been meant as an insult and degradation rather than a challenge but Astrid liked to make her own happier reality of things. She rarely could take anything seriously. Pansy's outbursts were especially amusing.

Astrid leaned down forming a snowball as she then looked up wiggling her eyebrows. Pansy just glared.

"Don't you dare throw that filthy snow at me-eeeeeh," her last word turned into a screech as Astrid's snowball had crashed against the girl's chest. "I will kill youuu!"

And with that Astrid knew it was on. The girl picked up her own snowball and then launched at Astrid as she quickly ran hiding behind a tree. They kept running from and after one another and it wasn't long before Pansy started smiling too. No one could keep mad for long in the snow.

Tracey and Millicent kept peacefully talking as Astrid and Pansy circled them a few times trying to get to one another. But time from time, Astrid caught Davis watching them with the tiniest glint of longing in her soft green eyes.

Theo, Blaise and Daphne stood to the side, not too far from the other two. They were also talking - Blaise and Theo fooling around as Daphne heartily laughed at them while simultaneously holding onto Zabini's shoulder as if to not fall over.

Astrid didn't know why they were still standing by the school but she wasn't thinking too much about it as she was having the time of her life. That's until the three people they had been waiting for walked out of the school. For once, Astrid wouldn't have minded his presence if it wasn't for Pansy immediately stopping their snow fight, dusting her clothes off, fixing her hat, and latching onto Malfoy's arm. She had completely abandoned her.

"Awh, come on..." Astrid whined as she watched the girl purr something in the boy's ear, the smug look never leaving his face. With a loud groan, she smashed the snowball, she had been holding, against the ground.

Astrid didn't even attempt pulling the girl away from Malfoy. She knew that was impossible.

"Tracey?" Astrid questioned hopefully and the girl shook her head. Astrid didn't inquire further. She was still a little scared of Rosier and she knew the two were the best of pals. "Mills?" she asked but the girl had been dreamily watching a bird flying through the sky. She didn't hear a thing.
