One Day

He Cheng sagged against the bathroom wall and sighed, letting his hand fall to his side. What was he supposed to do now? He raised his hand once more as his gaze fell upon the two clearly visible lines on the pregnancy test.

Closing his eyes, He Cheng's mind raced through the past five years of his life - his time trying to get close to He Tian, all his attempts at training and keeping Jian Yi safe, the progression of his relationship with Brother Qiu.

Their relationship had started completely professional but the more time they spent together, the more He Cheng realised he didn't like seeing Brother Qiu flirting with other people. And that's when he realised he was in love. He had tried to keep it to himself but Brother Qiu wasn't dumb and was quick to catch on. Eventually, it lead to long nights of passions and deep confessions of love for one another.

But now their duo was about to become a trio. The big question remained. Should he keep it or give it up? There was no way their lifestyle was right for a child to grow up in and he had to remain, not only for his boss but for He Tian too. A sudden knock at the door brought He Cheng out of his thoughts.

"He Cheng, are you alright? You've been in there for a while now." Brother Qiu's deep and concerned voice melted all of He Cheng's concerns away. It's not just my baby, it's ours. That's a decision we should make together.

He Cheng slid the test into his pocket and left the bathroom. Brother Qiu stood on the other side with a worried frown marring his features. Cute. "I'm fine."

"I was worried you were being sick again. I'll tear up that damn restaurant for making you ill." Brother Qiu clenched his jaw.

He Cheng smiled softly. "I told you not to worry about it. I'm not sick from the restaurant. I am starved though, could you bring me some wontons?"

Brother Qiu stared for a moment before nodding. "Sure, I'll be back soon.

Brother Qiu was getting concerned with He Cheng's behaviour lately. He had begun feeling nauseous for over a week now and his cravings were flying through the roof. If I were to guess, I'd have to say he was preg- Brother Qiu stopped in the middle of the street as his thoughts raced through his mind. Suddenly he shook his head. No, there's no way. But could he? It wasn't entirely impossible but they had been careful.

He tried dismissing the idea as he went to pick up wontons and some medicine for He Cheng's nausea but the thought kept crawling back. On impulse, he picked up a few pregnancy tests too. He walked back and his eyes kept drifting to the bag with the pregnancy tests in it. Brother Qiu wasn't sure why but he was getting more and more excited the closer he got to home. An image popped into his head of He Cheng holding a smaller version of himself. He had to admit, He Cheng would look super sexy as a parent.

He shook his head as he got to the door. You shouldn't be too excited about something that may not even be possible, Qiu. Don't get your hopes up. He opened the door to find rose petals littering the floor leading into the living room He cautiously followed them, wondering what had gotten into He Cheng - he had never been the romantic type.

Brother Qiu stepped into the living room to find the place lit only by small candles that had been placed around the room. Even in the glow of the candlelight, Brother Qiu could see the blush of embarrassment on He Cheng's cheeks as he stood in the middle of the room.

He Cheng seemed to look everywhere but at Brother Qiu as he spoke. "I wouldn't normally do this but I figured since this was a special occasion, I'd make the most of it."

"Are you pregnant?" Before he could stop himself, Brother Qiu blurted out the words he'd been wanted to ask for the past 20 minutes.

He Cheng stared at him with wide eyes. "How did you-" He Cheng pulled the pregnancy test out of his pocket and held it out. "I found out about an hour ago." His eyes seemed to glow and shimmer in the candlelight.

Brother Qiu raced forward and embraced He Cheng. "I had this feeling and put two and two together."

He Cheng pulled back and shook his head. "This is a dangerous world we live in, Qiu. I didn't think bringing a child into was a good idea but I wanted to make the decision together."

Brother Qiu smiled softly and ran his fingers through He Cheng's hair. "Well that's not true, is it? You've already made up your mind otherwise you wouldn't have gone to such lengths to tell me." He gestured to the rose petals and the candles.

He Cheng smiled. "Imagine a child that looked like you, that looked like us. I can't bear the thought of giving that up."

Brother Qiu kissed He Cheng's forehead. "You know I'll always keep you both safe. Always." He pulled He Cheng in and the two stood in an embrace for a while.

Suddenly, He Cheng pulled back. "Did you get the wontons?" Brother Qiu let out a chuckle before holding up the white plastic bag he forgot he was holding. He Cheng took the bag. "Good, I'm starving."
