One Day

"What were those fucking words that just came out of your mouth?" Mo Guan Shan scowled at the three boys that stood before him before raising his hand. "You know what? Fuck it. I'm not helping. You shitheads can do it yourselves."

He turned to walk away when He Tian grabbed his arm. "Wait, wait, wait. You can't leave. This is for a school charity, you have to participate. All I said was that we have to dress up for it. You're gonna bake the cakes for us so you can't leave, Little Mo. We need you."

Jian Yi stepped forward and flailed his arms around, the water bottle in his hand sloshing around. "We need you, Redhead! You are the centre of this group. The bread to our butter, the tomato to our ketchup, the peanut butter to our jelly, the-"

Zhan Zheng Xi smacked Jian Yi around the back of his head and folded his arms. "Look, if you really don't want to wear the costumes then that's fine and we won't force you. But we do need you here with us. We're a team and we need to work together to get this job done."

A small ache starting blooming in Guan Shan's chest at their words and he rubbed his forehead. "Fine, I'll bake the shitty cakes but I'm not wearing the costume."

Ignoring Jian Yi's moaning that Zheng Xi hurt his head, He Tian stood next to Guan Shan and threw his arm around his shoulder. "In that case, none of us should wear costumes. But we do have to wear something so we'll figure something out."

"Okay," Zheng Xi started. "do we all know what we're doing? Jian Yi, you're decorating the stand; Redhead, you're cooking the food; He Tian, you're on costumes; and I'll sort out the drinks. Don't forget that the theme is Easter."

He Tian grinned widely. "So the festival is tomorrow and that gives us plenty of time to sort stuff out. Don't Close Mountain, we're going shopping tonight."

Guan Shan rolled his eyes. "Great."

The next day, Guan Shan noticed an excited buzz in the air, however the miserable aura that surrounded him warded off all happiness and joy. He was dreading to see what He Tian was going to make him wear. The night before, He Tian had been super secretive when they had gone shopping and back at He Tian's apartment but he'd had a smug look on his face the entire time and he was doing Guan Shan's head in.

At lunchtime, they met up with Zheng Xi in the lunch hall. Zheng Xi told them that Jian Yi had been working on the decorations all night and was now setting them up on their stand in the courtyard. As they walked into the courtyard, the boys were greeted with bright colours.

Bright pinks, blues, greens and purples covered their stand. Jian Yi had drawn different coloured Easter eggs around the stand and placed a few bunnies at the bottom. On the top were some nests with a few eggs inside of them. In the middle of the stand was 'Happy Easter' written in bold writing. On the shelf they would use to put the food, there were stuffed bunnies and chicks on the edge. Guan Shan would never tell Jian Yi this, but he was actually impressed that the idiot could do something other than cling onto Zheng Xi. He'd done a good job.

Jian Yi stood up as he noticed the boys walking towards them. He waved his hand with a big grin. "Well? What do you think?" He wiped away the sweat off his forehead, causing some purple paint to smear along his face. "Tell me I did a good job Xixi!"

Zheng Xi nodded. "It's great. Good job, Jian Yi." Jian Yi, in his excitement, tried to jump on Zheng Xi but the latter grabbed his wrists and held him back. "Watch your hands you idiot! I don't want to get paint all over me."

"Oops," Jian Yi chuckled nervously. "sorry, Xixi." He turned to the other two admiring the stand. "Where's the food, Redhead? Did you forget to bring it silly bastard?"
