One Day

Mo Guan Shan readjusted his tie for the fifth time and peered over his computer towards his boss's office which was directly across the room from where he sat. His boss seemed to be staring intently at something on his phone. Guan Shan groaned as he seemed to guess what it was. Suddenly, his boss peered up and said something to his secretary, who nodded and walked away.

Cun Tou peered around the cubicle and gave Guan Shan a concerned look. "Are you okay? You look really pale."

Guan Shan nodded before fiddling with his tie once again. "Fine. Just feeling ill."

Suddenly, an email popped through Guan Shan's computer. It was from his boss, He Tian, asking him to step into his office for a moment. Guan Shan glanced at the letter of resignation he had just printed out and wondered if he should hand it in before he got fired. He hesitantly got up and walked on wobbly legs across the room. He glanced at the letter in his hand before he put it inside his pocket, deciding it would be best to hear what his boss had to say first.

He knocked and waited a second before walking in the room. He took a seat as he watched He Tian put two wine glasses on the table and he pulled out a bottle of red wine Guan Shan had never seen before. He Tian glanced up at Guan Shan before looking back down at the wine glasses.

"Know why I called you in here?"

Guan Shan swallowed heavily. Here comes the awkwardness. He hated both himself and this conversation. "Because I accidentally sent you a dick pic."

He Tian stopped pouring and looked up with an almost surprised expression. "'Accidentally'?" Silence filled the air as the two confused men tried to work out what was going on. The two stared at one another before a frown crossed He Tian's face. "Well, if not me, then who the fuck were you sending it to?"

Guan Shan blinked. This was the first time he was hearing his boss swear. "Why does that even matter to you? You're my boss!"

"Apparently we're a lot closer than that now. I've seen..." He Tian eyed Guan Shan slowly, his eyes hesitating on Guan Shan's most private area, and he smiled seductively. "everything there is to see. I mean, if you think it's not fair, I can return the favour."

Guan Shan covered his eyes with one hand and waved the other. "No, thank you. Look, I came here because I thought you were gonna fire me. I'll just quit and save us both the hassle." Guan Shan pulled the letter of resignation out of his pocket and placed it on He Tian's desk.

He Tian looked at it with distaste before he picked it up and ripped it in two, throwing it into the bin beside his desk. "What resignation letter?" He Tian sat back in his chair.

Guan Shan's jaw went slack. "You can't do that! It's unprofessional conduct."

"I can do what I like, I'm the boss and I like having you around. You're a hard worker and we're not going to let some misunderstanding get in the way of that. Now go back to your desk and we will talk about it tonight."

"Wha- But I have plans for after work." Guan Shan stood.

"Cancel them." He Tian's words were final. Guan Shan stared for a moment longer before letting out a frustrated sigh and walked out the office back to his cubicle.

When all the other workers had gone, Guan Shan sat at his desk and watch his boss say goodbye to his secretary. He Tian's eyes turned on him and Guan Shan figured that was the cue to go to his office once again. He opened the door and stepped inside but not moving any closer.

"Sir, I don't think there's anything more to talk about. I'm sorry for sending you that picture but it was truly a mistake."

He Tian sat up straight in his chair. "Who was it for?"

Guan Shan clenched his jaw. "You don't know them."

He Tian stood from his chair and walked around the desk. "Man or woman?"

"Woman, of course." Guan Shan flinched with every step He Tian took towards him.

He Tian stood inches from him. "Are you dating? Or is it a casual thing?"

"C-casual. Why does it even matter to you?" Guan Shan's voice was barely a whisper now. He stared at the floor, too scared to see He Tian's reaction to this embarrassing confession.

He Tian held Guan Shan's chin between his thumb and index finger and raised it until they made eye contact. Guan Shan's eyes widened at how close he was. "I want to be casual with you, too."

Guan Shan shook He Tian's hand away. "Not only are you my boss, but I'm not gay."

He Tian chuckled. "Straight, bisexual, gay; who needs a label when you're attracted to someone? You seriously can't deny the fact that you're attracted to me. We both know I'm hot."

Guan Shan narrowed his eyes. "You're too arrogant for your own good, Chicken Dick."

"You're not denying it, Little Mo."

It took Guan Shan a second to realise He Tian had backed him against the door frame and had been moving his head closer to Guan Shan's this whole time. Their lips were inches apart and He Tian closed that distance, planting his lips on Guan Shans'. He tasted of the red wine he had poured earlier and Guan Shan couldn't deny that he liked the taste.

The romantic chemistry between them blossomed and Guan Shan found himself not wanting to pull away. He squeezed his eyes shut and put a hand on He Tian's neck and the other on his shoulder. He Tian took this as a hint to press on and he wrapped his arms around Guan Shan's waist, pulling him against the other.

He Tian pulled away and brushed Guan Shan's hair off his forehead. "I'll take that resignation letter if you still want to quit, but I can't leave you alone. I won't."

Guan Shan breathed out a laugh before shaking his head. "And lose an excellent worker like me? The company would crash and burn."

He Tian chuckled. "Who's arrogant again?" He moved back and held Guan Shan's hand, pulling him into the office. "Come, I want to drink some wine from you."

Guan Shan frowned. "Sharing the same drink mouth-to-mouth isn't hygienic."

"We just shared saliva, Little Mo, I'm sure the wine won't be any different. Plus, who said anything about drinking wine from your mouth?" He Tian eyed Guan Shan's body. Guan Shan blushed.

"At least close the blinds, pervert."
