He Tian had told no one of his return so when he showed up to school the next day, everyone greeted him and welcomed him back. He said hello to everyone but paid no attention to them as his eyes travelled over the sea of faces looking for ginger hair. It was only after He Tian had ushered everyone to their classrooms that he decided to show up.

When Guan Shan spotted He Tian he stopped, his mouth opening in surprise. A warm feeling spread through He Tian's chest as he took in the sight of the boy stood in front of him. Guan Shan quickly shut his mouth and looked away when He Tian approached him. They stood inches apart when He Tian rested his head on Guan Shan's shoulder. "Miss me?"

Guan Shan stood there for a second before he reached up and rested his hand on the back of He Tian's neck, almost in a comforting gesture. Suddenly, Guan Shan's entire body flinched and he stepped backwards causing He Tian to stand up straight.

For a split second, He Tian saw fear glisten in those red eyes that had entranced him so many times before. One second it was there, then it was gone when he blinked and looked away. "I have to go to class. You should, too."

He Tian turned and watched as Guan Shan walked passed him and into the building. Feeling the sense of being watched, He Tian looked up and saw She Li standing in one of the classroom windows watching the scene below.

Something had happened to Guan Shan within the three weeks He Tian had been gone and he had a bad feeling. He was going to get to the bottom of it and make things right, no matter what. He Tian would find out what happened to his redhead and he would find out before school let out.

When lunchtime came around, He Tian had found Jian Yi and Zhan Zheng Xi to asked them what was going on. They explained that they had been hanging out with the redhead to keep him company when He Tian had left.

Jian Yi grabbed He Tian's shoulder and gave him a serious look. "Don't get mad, He Tian, but he's been hanging around with She Li for a while now. Not sure when they became friends again, considering She Li tried to set him up, but Redhead is always with him; they even leave school together."

The three boys decided to search for Guan Shan and see what was going on. On the courtyard, they found him sitting with She Li and the rest of his group. He wasn't interacting with any of them and was just sitting quietly. She Li turned and stared at him before whispering something to him. Guan Shan's eyes widened and he shook his head at She Li. He said something back before She Li reached up and rubbed his head.

He Tian's eye twitched and he stormed over, with Jian Yi and Zheng Xi behind him to back him the entire way. Guan Shan was the first to notice him and stared at him with wide eyes. When he reached the group, He Tian grabbed his arm and pulled him forward slightly. "I need to talk to you." Without letting him respond, He Tian started to drag him away but was stopped by an unknown force.

Turning, He Tian saw that She Li had hold of Guan Shan's other wrist. "And where do you think you're taking him? If you have something to say to our Mo Guan Shan, say it right here or leave him alone. He's not leaving."

He Tian glared at him. "'Our'? Fuck off, She Li. I want a word with him."

Guan Shan pulled himself out of their grips and glared at them. "I'm not a rag doll! Don't fucking drag me around." He looked at He Tian, avoiding his eyes. "Whatever you have to say, say it here because I ain't leaving."

He Tian clenched his jaw and bent down. He grabbed Guan Shan and swung him over his shoulder, surprising everyone, before turning around and marching away. By the time they had reached an empty classroom, He Tian was sure his entire back was covered with marks where Guan Shan had hit him to make him let go.

He put him down whilst Zheng Xi closed the door behind them. "He Tian, you fucker!" Guan Shan shouted, his cheeks pink. "Do you know how embarrassing that was?! The entire school saw you do that, you Chicken Dick!"

"Actually, the entire school heard you shout about it so it's your fault not mine." He grinned.

"Look, now isn't the time for this," Zheng Xi stepped forward when it looked like Guan Shan was about to commit murder. "Redhead, what are you doing with She Li?"

He Tian always could count on Zheng Xi to get straight to the point. They all stared at Guan Shan as they waited for an answer. Guan Shan avoided all of their gazes and folded his arms over his chest. "None of your business."

He Tian stepped forward. "Little Mo, I let you out of my sight for three weeks and you're hanging out with the guy that tried to frame you for sexually assaulting a girl?"

Guan Shan glared at him, upset. "You think I don't remember that? You think I forgot just because I'm with him all the fucking time?" He shouted. "Forget it, assholes. You wouldn't understand." Guan Shan walked past them to leave but He Tian grabbed his arm.

"You're not letting us understand. What the hell is going on with you?"

Guan Shan took a deep breath before he turned to look He Tian in the eyes. "I fucking hate you all." He ripped his arm away and left the classroom, leaving the three boys to stand there in shock.

Jian Yi was the first and the last to speak up. "He looked so sad." They all agreed.
