One Day

"Time to go, Little Mo!" He Tian grinned as he grabbed Mo Guan Shan's arm. "My food isn't gonna cook itself."

Guan Shan tried to pull himself free to no effort. He didn't have the strength for it. "Let me go, Chicken Dick! I wanna go home." He avoided He Tian's eyes, the scarf that he had brought the day before covering the redness of his cheeks and nose. He was sick but he didn't want to be pitied by those around him, especially by the demon that stood before him.

"Move it or lose it, Don't Close Mountain." He Tian started tugging on Guan Shan's scarf, causing it to come loose.

"Fine! Fine, I'll go." Guan Shan ripped his scarf out of He Tian's grip and marched on ahead to the train station. "'Move it or lose it'? Who even says that anymore?"

He Tian grabbed Guan Shan by the back of the neck and brought their faces close together, a wide grin on his face. "The guy that's paying you so you better watch your tongue, Little Mo."

By the time they reached He Tian's apartment, Guan Shan was feeling worse. He heard a high pitch ringing in his ears, his head was throbbing and he could feel a cold sweat dripping down his back. All I have to do is cook and clean for this fucker, then I can go home and rest. I need this money. He took his scarf and jacket off and tried his best to have his back to He Tian, who was luckily spending most of his time watching a basketball game.

Deciding on something simple to cook, Guan Shan made orange pork chop stir-fry for He Tian, then set to work on washing the dishes and wiping down the sides. As he cleaned, He Tian sat down at the table and watched him. "Aren't you gonna eat too?"

"Not hungry." He replied bluntly. "Just shut up so I can concentrate on cleaning." Guan Shan's breathing increased as his cleaning slowed. White dots started to fill his vision as the ringing in his ears got louder. He blinked rapidly to try and clear his vision but it only seemed to make it worse.

"Hey, Little Mo, are you okay?" He Tian's concerned voice fell on deaf ears as Guan Shan fell to the ground, his legs giving out. "Guan Shan!" The voice faded into the background as Guan Shan gave into the darkness.

He Tian's heart was thumping hard in his chest from guilt. How had he not noticed Guan Shan was sick? After he had collapsed, He Tian had picked him up and laid him down on the sofa. It was then that he noticed his red face. He Tian rested the back of his hand against the redhead's forehead and noticed he was burning up.

"You idiot," He Tian muttered. "why didn't you just tell me you were sick?"

He went into his bathroom and brought back a damp cloth, placing it on Guan Shan's warm forehead. He sat down on the floor in front of the sofa and watched the redhead carefully. Suddenly, Guan Shan turned over, knocking the cloth off his head, until he was laying on his stomach with one arm off the sofa. The arm came to rest in He Tian's lap. He Tian stared at it for a second before grabbing his hand and holding it tightly.

A few seconds later, Guan Shan's eyes opened and met with He Tian's instantly. "What happened?" He croaked out, trying to pull himself up.

He Tian put his hand on the other's back and gently pushed him back down. "You shouldn't get up, Redhead. You passed out in the middle of my kitchen. Why didn't you tell me you were sick?"

Guan Shan frowned and avoided He Tian's stern stare. "Didn't think it was important." He tried to get back up. If I don't clean this fucker will never let me hear the end of it. "Move. I haven't finished cleaning."

"Not import-" He Tian stopped himself and sighed, deciding he would argue with the stubborn boy when he was feeling better. "Don't you dare move from that sofa. Forget about cleaning for now. Your health comes first, do you understand me? You're gonna stay here the night until you're feeling well enough to go home. Don't worry, you can have the bed and I'll sleep on the sofa." He Tian picked the cloth back up and put it back on the redhead's forehead. Taking the opportunity, he rubbed the back of his fingers down Guan Shan's face. He felt warm.

They were silently staring at each other for a few moments when suddenly Guan Shan narrowed his eyes suspiciously at He Tian. "Why are you holding my hand?"

Without missing a beat, He Tian responded, "You passed out on my floor in the middle of cleaning duties. This is my reward for helping you."

Guan Shan glared and ripped his hand out of He Tian's, using it to hit him on the head. "You should always help a sick person you selfish Chicken Dick!"

He Tian chuckled and grabbed Guan Shan's hand again. "I'm kidding. Kind of." He Tian then leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss on the top of the cloth that covered the redhead's burning forehead.

"Get well soon, Little Mo."
