One Day

"Hey, redhead!" Jian Yi came bounding over to Mo Guan Shan who was currently staring at the piece of paper in his hand. "Are you excited? Can you believe we get to go on a trip? Who are you rooming with? Wanna trade papers?" The flurry of questions annoyed Guan Shan.

"Shut the fuck up. You're so noisy!" He looked back down at his paper. The sheet told them who they were going to be sharing a cabin with. They were told that their roommates would be people they were in class with so Guan Shan was more than confused when he saw He Tian's name next to his own. He was also irritated when he saw She Li's name beside theirs, too. Three other names he barely knew were written down on the paper.

He looked up and across the courtyard to see She Li staring at him with his own paper in his hand. Suddenly, someone swung their arm over Guan Shan's shoulder. He knew it was He Tian before he looked. Turning, he saw He Tian's paper in his hand and a grin on his face.

"Ready for a week away from school, roomie?"

"How the fuck did you manage to room with me? You're not in my class."

He Tian's grin grew wider. "The students aren't the only one's that love me you know. I asked a little favour from the teacher since I figured you couldn't live without me for more than a day."

"You talk too much shit. Go room with this idiot for a week; I don't need you." Guan Shan nodded at Jian Yi who was peering around looking for Zhan Zheng Xi, who still hadn't shown up.

He Tian tilted his head to the side. "And leave you all alone with She Li? Is that what you really want?" Both boys turned their heads to look at She Li who was now looking at the papers of his group. He Tian leaned in close to Guan Shan's ear. "I don't think so, Little Mo."

Guan Shan flushed red and pushed He Tian away. "Chicken dick. I won't be alone with him. There are six of us in a cabin."

"But only three in each room, Red. Doubt the other three on this sheet are gonna want to room with the moody delinquent of the class." He Tian smiled crookedly as he backed away from Guan Shan's swinging fists.

Teachers called to all students gathered in the courtyard and made them line up in their classes to do the register and check permission slips. Zhan Zheng Xi showed up at the last second and explained to a relieved Jian Yi that his younger sister almost didn't let him go because she would miss him for a week.

As Guan Shan was about to get on the bus, He Tian called over to him, "Save me a seat, Redhead!" resulting in Guan Shan flipping him off. He manoeuvred his way to the back of the bus and sat down in the window seat. A few moments later, Jian Yi and Zhan Zheng Xi sat in the seats on the opposite side, calling to Guan Shan to talk to them.

Suddenly, She Li walked down the bus. He stopped when he noticed Guan Shan and stared. "What?" Guan Shan asked bluntly.

She Li had a small smile on his face, making it look like he was up to no good. "Is this seat-"

Before he could finish, a hand appeared on his shoulder and He Tian peered over, looking She Li dead in the eye. "Keep walking."

For a whole 30 seconds, the two stared at each other, the tension growing out of control. Guan Shan was becoming more uncomfortable with the situation and was about to tell them both to fuck off when She Li turned to glance at him before moving down the bus into the seat behind the redhead.

He Tian sat down next to Guan Shan and gave him his award winning smile. "A week away from school and home with friends. I'm looking forward to it."

Guan Shan frowned at him and turned to look out the window as the bus started moving. "I'm not. I'm missing out on a whole week's worth of money because you made me come on this stupid trip."

"Don't complain Little Momo. You'll thank me later for this experience, trust me. The four of us will have a great time together. If it will make you feel better, when we get home you can cook me a nice beef stew and I'll triple your pay to make up for lost time."

Guan Shan gave He Tian the side eye. "Still gotta spend a week with you three. I might catch your stupidity."

He Tian's eye twitched and he grabbed Guan Shan's earlobe. Pulling it, he said, "I'm not the one who's always at the bottom of the scoreboard for the tests, am I?"

Guan Shan cried out, trying to swat He Tian's hand away. "Alright, already!" He Tian let go and Guan Shan rubbed his ear. "I'm not at the bottom because I'm stupid; I'm there because I don't try. You can't say shit to me when you was there with me last time."

He Tian leaned in close to Guan Shan, "That's because all of my attention is on you, little redhead. Can't focus properly when my little kitten is keeping me busy all the time."

Guan Shan's face burst into flames and his eyes widened as he turned to face He Tian. He started smacking him on his head and arms. "Don't you ever call me a kitten again you chicken dick He Tian! Fuck you!"

He Tian laughed, "Easy there! Don't use up all your energy now otherwise you won't have any left for the rest of the day."

Suddenly a teacher's voice called from the front of the bus. "Mo Guan Shan! If I hear you utter one more curse word, you're coming to sit up front with me! Do you understand me?"

"Yes, teacher." Guan Shan sunk into his seat, his face red, as students on the bus laughed and snickered. Sighing, Guan Shan reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone and headphones. He put them in and blocked out the rest of the world. An arm suddenly appeared in front of his face and took the earbud out of his left ear.

Smiling, He Tian put the earbud into his own ear. "Sharing is caring, Redhead."

Usually, he would argue and snatch the headphone back, but he didn't have the energy. Turning some more, Guan Shan looked in between the two seats and saw She Li's yellow eyes staring back at him. He quickly turned back and settled into the chair, closing his eyes.
