Mo Guan Shan frowned at his phone as he saw the array of messages from Zhan Zheng Xi. He had just stepped out from his part time job and was about to head home to get some sleep. He put his phone to his ear as he called Zheng Xi's number.
The first thing he heard was loud, thumping music and then a relieved Zheng Xi. "Thank God you answered. What were you doing?"
"I was at my job. What's wrong? What's so important? And where the hell are you?"
"Hang on, it's hard to hear you because it's so freaking loud in here. Let me go out-" Zheng Xi stopped as a crashing noise in the background stole his attention. "Jian Yi! You put that down right now! Stop throwing things you bastard! Brother Qiu will kill you!"
"Zhan Zheng Xi? What the fuck is going on?"
Suddenly, the music in the background got quieter as Zheng Xi moved into a different room. "Sorry, Redhead. I need your help. Jian Yi and He Tian decided it was a good idea to throw a party at He Tian's brother's place and now they're drunk and making a mess."
"I thought Jian Yi was there to train or some bullshit?" Guan Shan flagged down a taxi and got inside, giving the driver the address of He Cheng's estate.
"He was! Brother Qiu brought us and He Tian came along. The two must have schemed a plan to throw a party when I wasn't listening. He Tian does some stupid shit when you're not around, Redhead."
Guan Shan sighed and rubbed his forehead. He could feel a headache coming on. "I'm coming now. If Brother Qiu or He Cheng show up before I do and murder them both, let me know so I can turn around and go home."
"Will do, just hurry please." Zheng Xi hung up and Guan Shan watched the dark sky out of the window, wondering what mess He Tian had gotten himself into this time.
-------
Guan Shan could hear the thumping music before he could even see the house. He asked the taxi driver to wait as he would only be a few minutes and walked into the building. He walked past people dancing and drinking, some passed out on the floor and furniture and others making out against the walls. Guan Shan scanned each of them for a second to try and determine if any of them were He Tian.
He bumped into Zheng Xi in the kitchen where Jian Yi was standing on the breakfast bar belting out the song that was playing, just slightly off key. Maybe if he was sober, he could sing it quite well. Zheng Xi was trying to coax him off the bar whilst Jian Yi was trying to drag him up onto it.
"Redhead!" Jian Yi shouted, his drink sloshing out of it's container as he raised his arms in a welcoming gesture. "What a nice surprise. Do you-" he hiccuped, "-do you like the party? Have a drink and relax."
"You know I don't drink, chicken dick. Where's He Tian?" Guan Shan looked around the near empty kitchen.
Zheng Xi nodded his head towards the living room. "In there. Last I saw, he was playing poker with the boys from Class 3. He may have lost all his money."
Guan Shan shook his head. "Not likely. That bastard is way too good." Guan Shan nodded at Jian Yi and wished Zheng Xi, "Good luck." before he moved into the living room. There, he found He Tian lounging on a chair with his eyes almost closed and his drink slowly falling out of his hand.
There were people dancing around the living room but none paying attention to him. A few Renminbi* and playing cards were spread out on the table as well as ashtrays with stubbed out cigarettes and empty bottles of alcohol. Guan Shan walked over to He Tian and took the cup out of his hand, placing it on the table.
"Come on, idiot," Guan Shan reached down and grabbed He Tian by the arm, trying to tug him to his feet. "Get up."
"No!" He Tian exclaimed, his words slurring in his drunken state. "You can't touch me. I have a boyfriend."
A small smile tugged at Guan Shan's lips, He Tian's loyalty making his heart melt a little. "You bastard, open your eyes. I am your boyfriend."
He Tian's grey eyes landed on Guan Shan's face and his pupils widened in desire. "Little Mo? My Little Mo?" He reached up and placed a hand on Guan Shan's cheek, as if to confirm that he was real. "You're here?"
"Yes," Guan Shan tugged him to his feet and held onto his arms so that he didn't fall over. "and I'm taking you home. The taxi is waiting outside."
He Tian brought his face inches from Guan Shan's, causing the latter to go bright red. "My favourite redhead is here." He Tian murmured as he pushed his lips against Guan Shan's.
Pushing his drunken boyfriend back a little, Guan Shan glanced around and noticed that no one was watching them. Public displays of affection was still new to him and he wasn't sure how to handle it sometimes. "Yes and this redhead will leave you here if you don't move right now."
With the motivation to move, He Tian let Guan Shan guide him out of the house and into the taxi. When they got back to He Tian's apartment, Guan Shan threw He Tian onto the bed and took off his shoes. When he started to undo He Tian's belt, He Tian grabbed Guan Shan's hand and grinned lazily at him.
"If you wanted to get me naked, all you had to do was ask."
Ignoring the comment, Guan Shan bent his head towards He Tian's and brushed his hair out of his face. "You know Brother Qiu and He Cheng will kill you tomorrow, right?"
He Tian leaned into Guan Shan's touch. "I'll fight them to the death in your honour, Little Mo."
"This has got nothing to do with me, you little shit. Now go to sleep." He reached down and kissed He Tian softly.
"Anything you say, Guan Shan." He Tian whispered as he settled down into the bed.
Guan Shan walked into the kitchen and got a bottle of water out of the fridge as well as some tablets out of his cupboard for He Tian's hangover the next day. He pulled out some leftover beef stew from the freezer and put it in the fridge, ready to be eaten the next day. He walked back to He Tian and found him snoring softly. Guan Shan continued to remove He Tian's belt and trousers and the climbed into the bed with him. He Tian was going to have a hangover the next day and Guan Shan wanted to be there to help him through it.
"Because," Guan Shan said as he settled himself on He Tian's chest. He Tian naturally curled himself around Guan Shan's body. "that's what a good boyfriend does."
