One Day
"I can't believe you, Tian," He Cheng shook his head as he turned on the indicators. He was driving his younger brother home after three weeks of being at their fathers' home. "from the moment we got their you did nothing but moan about wanting to go home. You even lied to Brother Qiu about having a puppy at home with no one to care for it."
He Tian turned his lip up at the corner. "Actually, I do have a puppy waiting for me at home, he's just not what you'd expect." A snarling Mo Guan Shan popped in He Tian's head. "He gets real grumpy when I don't pay enough attention to him."
"You still didn't need to act like a spoilt little brat the entire time. You're lucky father forgave you for the time you smashed his window and ran away."
"You tricked me into coming over. If I had known we were going to stay at fathers' instead of going to Japan then I would have taken my puppy and hidden from you." He replied indignantly.
He Cheng sighed and shook his head but argued no more. There was no point with a stubborn brat like his younger brother. He would just take him home and leave him be for a while. After letting He Tian out of the car and driving away, He Tian dropped his bag just inside of his apartment and went straight to Guan Shan's place.
On the way, he pulled his phone out and wrote a text to Guan Shan letting him know he was coming, but before sending it he deleted the message, deciding he wanted to surprise the Redhead.
Not being about to see him in so long made He Tian feel like he was going through withdrawal symptoms. He himself was surprised to feel that he was excited to see his favourite redhead. He knocked on the front door and waited patiently.
Opening the door, Mrs. Mo smiled up at He Tian. "Oh, He Tian dear! What a pleasant surprise. I haven't seen you in a while. I asked Guan Shan about you and he said you had gone away for a while. How have you been?"
He bowed respectfully. "Hello Auntie, it's good to see you. You're looking as beautiful as ever I see," he flashed a grin at her and she laughed. "I've been well thank you; is Guan Shan here?"
Her face dropped. "Oh, no dear. About two weeks ago he started to only come home really late at night, not even to drop off his school bag. He says he's working but I don't think his job is keeping him that late, surely. He seems more quiet than usual too; he tells me he's tired but I'm not sure. Mother's instinct and all." She looked back up at He Tian after staring at seemingly nothing. "Sorry about my rambling, I'm sure you don't want to hear it. You can come in and I'll make you some tea if you like."
He Tian smiled and bowed again. "Thank you, but maybe next time Auntie. I only came round to see Guan Shan quickly but I have some things I need to do now that I'm back. Thank you again."
"You're welcome round anytime you like, He Tian. Don't hesitate to ask."
After leaving, He Tian walked down the street thinking about what Guan Shan's mother had just said. Work, huh? Bullshit. What are you up to, Little Mo?
