Chapter Thirty-five - Fascination

Seidou snuck around, away from Kanae's side, as he carefully watched from a distance. Watching a certain human female.

He leaned closer, and closer, getting a better look at her as she was distracted with conversation. This ploy seemed rather odd, questionable even, but he didn't care for all he could feel was fascination. It was weird seeing another human after all this time, and she looked so...normal.

Suddenly, someone taps the male on the shoulder, startling him greatly. "Eeeep!" "What the hell, who screams like that Takizawa?!" Seidou holds his chest, softly panting. "Y-You surprised me, and I didn't scream!" Kanae rolled his eyes. "Whatever you say... Anyway, what are you doing spying on Shuu?" 

Seidou blushes softly, slightly looking over the nearby table as they continued to chatter, blissfully unaware. "I-I...I wasn't..." Kanae too looks over, somewhat puzzled. "Wait...were you...looking at Chie?" "It's not what it seems like!"

Kanae scoffs, interpreting the situation in his own way. "Do you have a crush on Chie?!" Seidou's eyes widen, taken aback quite a bit. "What-?!" "Takizawa, how dare you?! And when you already have a crush on Matsumae!" Seidou holds one of his arms. "Like I said, i-it's not like that...!" Kanae flings his arms into the air, clearly frustrated and confused.

"Than what is it?! Does it have something to do with you being human at one point?!" Seidou turns his head the other way, not looking at Kanae or Chie. "I guess so..." Kanae sighs softly, resting his left hand onto his hip.

"So what, do you want to talk to her?" Seidou looks at Kanae in the eye, nodding in response to the question. "N-Not just that, but I would like for us to perhaps become friends as well? I know that's a lot to ask, I just met her mere minutes ago, but..." Suddenly, images of Amon, Akira and Hide appear as he thought over how to finish his statement.

"I would like us to be friends, she seems kind of cool, you know?" Kanae sighs, scratching his head before snapping his fingers. "Modeling." Seidou tilts his head. "Uh, what?" "She likes having someone model for her, she's very artistic herself. And seeing how you are, being...uh you." Seidou lowers an eyebrow in confusion.

"Uh, thanks...?" "She'll probably appreciate it, as long as she has someone she can have pose and get directed by her. Though, do tell her to give us the photos once they're up."

Seidou clears his throat. "U-Um, sure but...do I really have to?" Kanae shrugs. "Well, doing that sort of thing is the best way to get to know someone." Seidou sighs softly. "Alright, I'll talk to her about it after they're done!"

Kanae looks over at the table. "Which seems to be right about now, so you might as well hurry up to it." "What?" Seidou turns his head, seeing the two comrades hug it out and whatnot. Seidou jolts his head back. "You couldn't say anything sooner?" To which Seidou proceeds to dash off into the direction of the female human, and Kanae responds without the older male even there. "It just happened..." Stating it ever so snarky-like. 

Seidou runs over to Chie once she's alone, heading out the exist. "U-Um, Hori wait!" Chie turns around rather calmly. "Oh, Zaza! What's up?" The female popped her lips naturally. "U-Um...what were asking of Kanae...d-do you think you-? I-?" Seidou took a breath, holding his chest slightly. "Do you think I could model for you sometime?"

Chie keeps a straight face as she shrugged softly. "Sure. Could be fun, and you look like someone who could pull it off. Also, I kind of like your hourglass figure, not a lot of guys have that." Seidou sighed, losing his patience with that fact being brought up.

"Why does everyone point that out, can't I meet one person that says nothing about it?" Chie nods slightly. "I understand, sorry. I like your eyepatch though!" Seidou touches it gently. "Thanks, it was a gift." "Pardon for assuming things, but...are you a ghoul yourself?" 

Seidou blushes softly, clearing his throat. "Kind of? The thing is, you're not wrong but you're not right ether. How did you know?" "You're working here, and I can't name the last time Shuu has had a human servant. Straight up facts!" Seidou wears a somewhat blank, yet thrown off, expression. 

'Really, was I technically the first?' The male thought to himself. Chie laughs. "That expression is hilarious! I really like you Zaza, we really should hang sometime, ya know? Well, when your ready to model, here's my card! It has my name, email, phone number and other forms of contacts!"

Seidou looks down at the card, seeing a side stating 'also, my ice cream's on you'. Seidou stumbles a little with his words, so he just settles on nodding. "Alright, well...see ya around!"

Seidou smiles warmly as she turned away, kind of surprised by her proposal. He didn't actually think it would go well. "Y-Yeah, see ya!"

Seidou turns around, walking off and feeling content. Though he knew this meant clean-up duty, he didn't seem to care.

Kanae scoffs. "Slick...not bad." Seidou nods modestly. "Y-You think so?" "Sure do. Now come on, we've got some housework to catch up on." 

And so, the pair walk together, making small talk along the way. It was a rather busy day, though not the busiest. And Kanae himself began to think... 'How long should this go on? Now it feels like...I never want anything bad to happen to him, like he's one of us now... This is crazy, why should I even care?!'

Seidou turns to the male. "Kanae, overall what did you think of my service?" Kanae scoffs, turning his head away slightly. "Ridiculous, you were such a dork!" Seidou lowers his eyes in both disbelief and passive behavior. "Whatever floats your boat I guess."

Kanae looks up at the evening sky as the sun began to set, giving off a warm orange color. "Takizawa...do you...like taking to humans? Even now?" Seidou smiles softly, staring at his own feet. "They feel the most familiar to me, it's hard to explain." "I see... Well, maybe it would be for the best if you were given more chances to talk with Chie."

Seidou turns his head to the young male. "Really, you think so?" "Yeah yeah, just don't let that statement get to your head, alright?" 

Seidou chuckles lightly, putting his pinkies together, as if to keep a promise. "Fine, fine! I won't! Anything, as long as I have someone to talk to..." "Hey, I'm right here!" "Someone human!" Suddenly, Seidou bursts into a fit of laughter, leading to Kanae chuckling as well.

Kanae sighs. "Alright, let's just get these activities over with!" Seidou places his hand onto his forehead, giving some sort of salute. "Can do!"
