Into The Rose Garden (Seidou x Kanae/Karren)

Chapter Sixty-eight - Kanae's lie

Matsumae takes a deep, DEEP breath, before sighing deeply. She looks over Seidou, who was just sitting peacefully and waited for Matsumae's words. Crossing one leg over the other, Matsumae holds her hands on top of her knee.

"Seidou...I didn't know how to tell you what I'm about to, it didn't seem right for a while. But seeing how you and Kanae have been getting closer, thankfully, I feel like I should hear your input on it." Seidou leans forward, eyes widening. "About what...?" The male questioned, as Matsumae lowered her head and sighed once again.

"Seidou, this might seem...confusing. But the truth is...Kanae is a woman." The male scoffed, using the hand motion for referring to something obvious yet ridiculous. "Well yeah, I knew that! Everyone knows he's trans-!" "No." Seidou tilts his head, to which Matsumae explained herself. 

"Yes, he wants us to treat him like a man, and act like a man. I would be completely fine with it, if he saw himself as a man trapped within a woman's body, than of course I would support him! But the thing is...I think she's actually female, both inside and out."

Seidou scratched his head. "I...I don't understand." "I saw her...for her true self. Everyday I saw it, I saw it in her eyes, her mannerisms...her private self. I know too well of the look in the eyes of a woman, I know the inner emotions in there. I know their struggles, their feelings...their darkest secret hidden deep within. Her eyes tell a completely different story from 'inner male'. There's something she's hiding, and even I can't seem to figure it out." 

Seidou raised an eyebrow, as he couldn't even fathom Matsumae thinking that way about Kanae. "How do you know that...?" "Trust me Seidou, I know the deepest secrets of basically everyone in this mansion. Well to some extent." In which Seidou gulped harshly.

"E-Everyone, e-even...?" Matsumae shook her head. "No, no... You're still a huge mystery to me." Seidou sighed. 'Thank goodness...' He thought. Matsumae looked up at the ceiling, calmly crossing her arms. "Seidou... Kanae is lying to herself, and I know she's doing so just for the sake of her family's lineage. Whenever she tries confirming that she's 'trans' to someone who brings it up, I can't help but notice how sad she looks every time."

Matsumae looked over at Seidou. "Seidou, if you can...please try to guide Kanae into becoming her true self, the self she's afraid to show. She's not a male, and she shouldn't feel bad to admit that, even after the trans shtick. Please, at least try to help her..."

Seidou tilts his head, still very much confused. "Why can't you...?" "I don't know why, but I don't think I really can. It might seem hard to believe, but the two of you relate to each other more than you may allow yourselves to think." Seidou kept on a straight expression, slowly turning his head down, looking down onto his lap.

"I'm afraid of offending Kanae if I managed to bring this up somehow, and I'm afraid of keeping even more secrets from him. I have a lot to hide myself, but I don't wish for Kanae to do that to himself..." Seidou looked back up, nodding. "Ok, I'll try to do what I can for him. But if he really is a male, I'll keep going through with treating him as such." 

Matsumae smiled warmly, deeply appreciative of the male's agreement. "Thank you, Seidou! And don't worry, so would I..." 

The two sat in a literal minute of silence, before a certain male cried out to him. "Seidou, Seidou! Come on, hurry up and finish up on whatever it is that the two of you are talking about!" Seidou cleared his throat, turning his head to face the direction. "A-Alright Kanae, I'm on my way! Just please hang on!"

Seidou turned back to a humbled Matsumae, gesturing for him to go on back to Kanae. To which the male nodded and got up. "Come on Donut!" In which she gives a beautiful bark. As the duo went along their way.

While Matsumae sighed, looking down within her hands. Soothing herself with soft whispering comments. "Yes, Kanae is rather fond of you...completely out of his old character. What did you do to him, Seidou...?"
