Into The Rose Garden (Seidou x Kanae/Karren)

Chapter Thirty-three - Issue?

It was a rather sunny and fairly warm afternoon, and there both Seidou and Kanae just walked around the still empty garden. Today was their 'day off', so there really wasn't much to do but walk and talk together.

Kanae lifted his head up, not a single smile was present. "So...you're adapting here well." Seidou shrugs softly. "I wouldn't call it 'adapting', but I guess I'm getting the hang of it." Kanae smirks softly, turning his head to the male.

"Is that so? My, how humble of you." The brunette rolled his eyes. "Oh please, you don't need to patronize me." "Who said I was? Or was that something you thought for yourself?" The older male places his hands behind his back, moving ahead of the younger male.

"Seriously though, there's no need to baby me or leave me out of doing certain tasks, because...I can do them too. Now that I've gotten the hang of this, I can be up for anything, right?" Kanae rolled his eyes.

"Well than, are you up for some hunting...?" Seidou turned his head to the male, wearing a puzzled expression. "Hunting?" "Uh, yeah. You know we have to get food eventually and-!"

Suddenly, it clicked to Seidou. He gasps the moment he figured what the other male meant. "Y-You mean hunt down people?!" "Well, humans yeah. What else would I be talking about? Though I suppose we do need to-..." Seidou turns his entire body to Kanae. "I'M NOT DOING THAT!"

Kanae tilts his head. "What? But you did say yourself that you can do ANYTHING, didn't you?" "Y-Yeah, but not kill people! That's completely different!"

Kanae raises an eyebrow. "Ah, so you must be one of those 'non-killing ghouls', huh?" Seidou lowers his eyebrows, focusing on the question. "Non-killing ghouls...?" "Well yeah, haven't you heard of what that is? Damn...you must've really lived under a rock." 

Kanae clears his throat. "They're...essentially the pacifists among ghouls. It started with a few small groups, but as time passed, more and more ghouls have chosen the lifestyle. I have no clue how in the hell they even get their meat, but I guess they find a way." 

Seidou's eyes suddenly widens, sparkling in fact. He doesn't smile, but he turns to the younger male. He holds his closed hands up to his shoulder in an excited manner. "R-Really, t-that's a thing?!" He opens his mouth a little with slight amazement.

Kanae scoffs, wearing a weirded out expression. "U-Um...yeah... It's a thing." Seidou keeps on the same face, eyes glittering with astonishment.  

'W-Wow...I never...I never knew there were ghouls like that... How is that possible, and who are they...?' 'I thought you believed they were nothing but monsters...' Suddenly, Seidou's eye fade, lowering his arms and looking down. Kanae tilts his head. "Takizawa...?"

Seidou sighed and thought to himself. 'Right...nothing but monsters...' Kanae scoffed with annoyance. "Takizawa!" "H-Huh?!" "Wow, all you do anymore is doze off, has something been bothering you?"

Seidou frowned softly, his eyes staring off, like looking through a memory. "I guess you could say that, but why would you care...?"

Kanae puffs up his cheeks, his eyebrows formed angerly. "That's rude, I was just asking! I'd hate to admit this, but I do get concerned about you!" Seidou looks at the male's face, and Kanae sighs softly. "I...heard you the day you met master Shuu...when you slept. You were talking quietly, and you sounded upset. Did you have a nightmare?" "Wha-?!" "I know, I shouldn't have overheard... But still, I've been wondering what it was about. What's your issue?"

Seidou lowered his head softly. "Issue...?" He then raises his head slightly, wearing a dejected expression. "No...there's no issue at all..." 

Kanae's eyes widen, looking in disbelief...of the obvious lie. Seeing Seidou with that expression, saying those words in that tone, caused a great feeling of empathy. Feeling a sense of...familiarity. 

But remembering Matsumae's words, Kanae turned his head slightly. "O-Oh, if you say so. I won't bother you about it than."

Kanae sighs to himself, feeling his sense of both curiosity and hidden regrets within his chest. It began to well up, as the feeling grew rather quickly. Ten minutes later, he built up the need to ask the male the desired question.

"Takizawa, what-?" "Kanae! Kanae!!!" Both Kanae and Seidou's attention focus onto the cries of a distressed female, that female being Matsumae. 

Kanae tilts his head. "Matsumae, is there a problem?" Matsumae pants quickly, holding her knees as she tried catching her breath. Seidou chuckled lightly to himself. 'Not much of a runner, is she...?' He thought in a mildly teasing way.

Finally, Matsumae responds the moment she could. "I...I just got off the phone, it...it was Chie!" Kanae scoffs rudely. "What did that mouse have to say...?" "S-She wants to come over, soon! So I need you to confirm it with-!" "WAIT, SHE'S COMING HERE?! TODAY?!"

Matsumae shrugs softly. "Well, she and master Shuu are waiting for your response." Kanae grunts. "Ugh, very well... Come on, Takizawa, we're going back inside!"

Kanae then followed Matsumae, closely behind. Seidou shrugged softly, following the two. Becoming mildly confused as they went on. Who were they talking about?
