Alright, so...here we'll be doing some discussions and questions for me to answers. Remember that I will try to answer the best I can, without sharing too much personal information. And I'll probably answer them either here or in a future chapter. Let's begin! And of course afterwards, I'd like to go into detail on the story in general!
I'm sorry to say, but there are no questions to answer as of right now. Perhaps there will be in the near future, but not as of right now.
Alright, now for the discussions! There have been things I have decided upon leaving out, regarding if it would've been too much to add in and take up time that probably wouldn't have been worth it. Or they would've turned the story more ridiculous than it could already have potentially be. However, if you like some of these concepts and wished they would've been put into the story, than don't be afraid to head-cannon and you can believe it happened off-screen. Enjoy!
Kanou bringing up Unit 731 as a huge 'accomplishment' for science: So firstly, to get it out there, I left this out to avoid the character becoming anymore despicable than he already was. From 'morally grey character, despite his cruel actions' to 'burn him to the stake'! If you aren't aware, Japan has a...complicated history with WW2. I say 'complicated', but in reality, their involvement was just awful. Eventually leading up to tensions between countries today, and I'd rather not get into that issue, since that's a subject completely on its own. So of course you'd aspect certain Japanese folk nowadays to deeply regret these actions, becoming extremely apologetic...or some are the kind to point out 'it's all in the past', without taking accountability. However, the case for Kanou in this version would be that not only would he see no issue with it nowadays, he would have actually seen it as a 'necessary step' for science. I would have added him stating this to Seidou or Eto, with Seidou being clearly disgusted by this claim, as would literally any decent Japanese person or just a decent person altogether. This was a terrible thing that happen, along many other things within Japan's history. We can still respect certain countries for their progress despite their shady past, but they're still there and shouldn't be avoided! And no, nothing will EVER justify the crimes taken place there. So yeah, pretty much didn't want the madman hated too much with this. But weirdly, it's so scary on how accurate that would have been.
Touka's connection to Seidou's past: The reason Seidou joined CCG was to protect his mother, after a ghoul incident involving a neighbor lady named 'Satou' was killed by one. I didn't think much on this, until I saw a post somewhere where they explained that Touka had a connection to this Satou lady. Considering a neighbor lady Touka and Ayato knew who also called 'Satou'. To summarize briefly, they considered that not only did they know the same person, but that Touka was actually the direct reason Seidou made it his goal to join CCG. Basically meaning, she or Ayato (most likely Touka) went back for revenge. The logic behind this was that she and Seidou were born and raised within the 20th ward and other factors, though I wish I could show the direct post. I was thinking of writing this in, because if it weren't for that, Seidou would have NEVER joined the CCG to begin with, and it would have conflicted Touka for when Seidou brought up his neighbor's passing, with her figuring out that she was the direct cause. Of course it takes place after she started talking about Donut being within her restaurant, giving an okay for the doggo. And it would only come up in passing conversation. Touka would of course reveal this, as she wanted her conscious cleared at least a little. Seidou would obviously be upset, as it led to EVERYTHING happening to him. However, soon finds forgiveness, as Touka really isn't someone he couldn't bring himself to hate for long. I just cut this to save time.
