Into The Rose Garden (Seidou x Kanae/Karren)

Chapter Ninety-six - Blue Rose

Seidou sighed softly as the female led him, holding onto his wrists. "Seidou, pick up the pace." "Hard to hear, considering I'm the one blindfolded...again." The male heard a light scoff from the female. "That attitude, why haven't I seen it for the longest time?"

Seidou remained silent, shrugging in response. It had been a few days, and the female and male both had said nothing about what had happened with Seidou's confession. There has been...this silent and very awkward tension between them, and they STILL didn't say anything about it before.

Seidou was at this point where he knew he had to talk about it, and rip the bandage off. "Kanae...I know what this-!" "Shush! Don't even guess what it is." Seidou shook his head. "No, Kanae I-!" "What's with this 'Kanae' wording? It's...just us. It's alright, you can tell me what you want once I show you your surprise." Wearing a worried expression, Seidou kept to himself.

'What could she wish to show me...?' 'Perhaps she's going to dump us...' Seidou then wore an even sadder expression, thinking that thought. 'This is your fault...' "H-Hey, K-Kanae...I-I don't think I can-!" "We're almost there, just wait one or two seconds!" Seidou's expression worsened from behind the blindfold. "I-I can't, please I-I beg of you! I-I'm sorry that I-!" Quickly removing the blindfold, Karren smiled weakly.

"Surprise..." Seidou blinked. "What...am I looking for...? It's your rose garden." "Look to your left, you should be able to see it." Looking towards the said direction, unaware of what it was he has suppose to look at exactly, only to soon discover a special surprise indeed.

A blue rose, in the middle of many red ones.

"K...Kanae... I thought you-!" "You just looked so hurt from the daisy, so I thought...maybe we can add something new into the garden. It's not much, but-!" Seidou turns to the female, wrapping his arms around her tightly. His body quivering softly. Karren gently placed her hands onto his back.

Seidou sighed weakly, and yet so very warmly. "It's...everything." Seidou lets go, smiling softly. Seidou stared at the female, only to look back down in shame. "Why so sad, mein hunt...?" "Kanae, about...what I told you... I-I am so, so sorry... I'm so sorry..." Seidou sat down, his closed hand against his forehead.

"I am so sorry I haven't told you the truth from the beginning, and I am so sorry that I was a 'dove' to begin with... I'm sorry for all of it, so please..." Seidou began to cover up his face, as he didn't want Karren to see. "Don't break up with me Kanae, p-please...!" 

The female's eyes widen as as she sat by his side. "Oh no Seidou, no...! I would never wish to do such a thing, especially not now." "B-But...I-I was a dove, I was assigned to track down and kill Shuu. You should hate me!" The female scoffed, placing her hands onto the male's form. "Seidou, no...I'll never bring myself to do that, I can't hate you for that... Sure it...took me by surprise, but I was still processing it all, and...I've had time and I thought about it some more..."

Karren leaned forward. "And...I've decided, no more secrets that hurt, ok? Obviously you shouldn't talk about subjects that you're uncomfortable with, however don't force yourself to hide your feelings away. Again, the do-...investigator thing just caught me off guard." The female paused, looking the other way, blushing lightly. 

"Though I'm even more curious on what your work was actually like, knowing now that you're not just a police officer. So, I...I would like to know for myself, ok?" Seidou shifted his eyes towards her. "A-Are you sure...? I mean, I thought you hated investigators." "I can make a few exceptions..." The young female smiled, tilting her head at the male. Causing Seidou to gulp harshly, looking over at the blue rose.

"It was... I thought I was making a difference, though at the same time, I knew that I was just some joke of an investigator. Graduated second in my class, and nothing to show for it. That's the harsh reality for ghoul investigators, you're either a nobody or you're constantly risking your life out in the field."
