Chapter Seventy-three - Torn

Seidou hums to himself, gently watering the indoor plants and he felt himself relax. Kanae eventually gets back inside, back from plant care within the garden. Kanae smiles widely, waving at the slightly older male. 

Seidou waves back gently, smiling softly. "Kanae, how are they growing today?" "Ziemlich gut! You should really come out and see it more often!"

Seidou lowers his eyes brows in a thinking manner. "No thanks, I really don't wish to." Kanae scoffs softly. "What? But Seidou, it's so...peaceful out there." "Not when they're working out there..." Seidou retorted back.

Kanae sighs. "Seidou, I know the saws and tools terrify you. But maybe, somehow, we can get you past that-!" "I said no!" The male shouted, still looking away.

Kanae leans over, placing his hand gently onto his shoulder, causing Seidou to flinch. "Seidou...if something's wrong, maybe you should talk to us about it. Like, what the therapist-!" "I'm fine."

Kanae scoffed lightly. "Seidou, you seem really upset about some-!" Suddenly, Seidou quickly turns around, facing Kanae. "I said I'm-!" Except...Kanae was no longer there. Not only that, but everything else has changed as well. It was dark, and he was in some sort of void. Yet somehow, this feeling of dread and intense fear consumes his emotions, and he couldn't pinpoint why.

"...fine..." The male had finished. Before Seidou could observe any longer, a hand grabs onto his shoulder, and instantly felt the feeling of consternation, creating literal chills to run down his spine. He knew the one behind the hand, and couldn't even bring himself to scream or even look.

"Hello again...Takizawa..." The madman himself, Akihiro Kanou. Seidou began slowly turning his head to the elder male, as slow as some old and rusted gears. His pupils shrunk, leaping about ten inches away.

Kanou chuckled lightly. "What, shocked to actually see me...? Did you actually make yourself believe that this new lifestyle of yours would last? You knew that I would find you again one day, you must have!" Seidou shook his head a little, slowly backing away from the older male.

"N-No...No! No, you didn't find me, you didn't!" Suddenly, he backed into a wall. And instantly, like some thick fog that had been blown away, he was there... Back in the room where this entire mess began.

Kanou chuckled lightly, bringing his hands up. "Oh, but Takizawa..." Seidou looked at himself, and he no longer wore the household outfit. Instead it had been replaced by his old lab clothes and chains, attached to nearly every limb. Kanou continued.

"Don't you get it...?" And Seidou felt his entire body pull towards Kanou, as he fought and fought against it, shaking his head violently. "NO!" "I did find you." "NO!"

Suddenly, Seidou's entire body jolts awake, however the male himself was not fully awake quite yet. His back arches greatly, as he gave out the bloodiest scream. Tears roll violently down his face, and his kukugan activates and glows greatly. And his kagune...activated.

Donut quickly wakes herself up, hearing the distressed cries of her master. She tries climbing on top of the bed, only for Seidou to lash out. "DONUT, NO! I-I MIGHT HURT YOU!" The dog whimpers and cries herself, scratching at the bed and freaking out. Her human was suffering, all alone and she couldn't do anything about it! Suddenly, out of nowhere, Seidou's door is slammed open.

"Seidou, what's wrong?!!!" It was Kanae! But Seidou kept crying and screaming, still arching his back up high. 

Kanae then puts on a strongly concerned look, genuinely feeling sorrowful for the male's suffering. "S-Seidou, your kagune-!" Kanae was quite surprised to see it out for the first time, however he shook his head and focused on the task at hand.
