Chapter Ninety-four - Birdcage

Seidou scoffed light, as he began to walk slowly towards the older male, Donut close to his side. Kanou rolled his eyes, as he place the palm of his hand onto his side. "Well of course, you were the one to call me. Remember?" 

Seidou groaned, as he had kept his distance, while also getting pretty close to Kanou's space. "Yeah, I'm not an idiot." The young male stated rather calmly. "Kanou, I just...need to know a few things, for myself..." Kanou raised an eyebrow, as this male before him was very much different from the one at the checkup.

"You've matured." The doctor pointed out, leaving Seidou to sigh. "I guess... But Kanou, my first question..." "And there are more?" Seidou shrugged. "Well, yeah." Seidou paused, before cutting right to the point.

Seidou was still very tense, and he struggled with looking Kanou in the eye. Donut noticed this, and nuzzled her nose up to his hand, making the male chuckle softly. "I got this, Donut..." He whispered, smiling warmly at the female collie.

But before Kanou could respond, he scoffed. "Takizawa, how many times must I tell you...? Take off that eyepatch." "I-I...I can't..." Kanou raised an eyebrow. "You can't? What, is there glued to it or something?" Seidou sighed. "I just can't, alright?"

Kanou groaned. "Just take it off already, I won't care. Keep it on and I won't answer any questions." Seidou sighed, slowly removing the patch. He giggles softly and nervously. His kakugan was activated. 

"I-It's been like this all day, since I woke up... It won't go down..." Kanou shrugged. "Probably nerves, or perhaps stress. Now, on with your questions."

He turned his attention back at Kanou. "Kanou, I need to know...that day, the 'incident'...is there even a possibility, to bring back those that I've...?" Seidou turned his head away, afraid to finish that statement.

Kanou snorts, shaking his head. "Bring them back? With what you did that day, to that extent, absolutely not. Unlike you, they were damaged and torn apart enough to make it beyond the realm of possibility." Seidou lowered his head, appearing saddened. "O-Oh... Really, it's not even...remotely-?" "No."

Kanou again sighed. "Takizawa, you ripped them apart...it was such a mess! I'm sorry kid, but...there's nothing I can do." Seidou wore a saddened expression, trying to accept this output. "Well...is it possible for a ghoul and a human to be...in love...?"

Kanou rolled his eyes. "I see where this is going... Just so you know kid, I can't help you in that department." "B-But Kanou, you've never...felt that way towards anyone? You've been married, right? Have you ever been in love?" Kanou groaned, annoyed of this seemingly repeated subject.

"Why does everyone wish to know that? There's nothing interesting about marriage, and nope...never felt that way, and never will." Seidou scoffed, in disbelief. "But why? It's amazing, I think so at least. Maybe it would have changed how you turned out." Kanou rolled his eyes. "Oh please..." Pausing briefly, he thought to ask the younger male a question semi-related.

"Let me guess, you're with that female ghoul I've seen with you." Seidou looked away, and blushed softly. "Y-Yes...but we didn't start going out until after what happened." Kanou then crossed his arms.

"I don't get it, how did someone as stubborn as you end up with a ghoul like her?" Seidou sighed, looking up as he explained. "Well...don't you think she's attractive...?" "...No... Well, she is beautiful, I'll give you that. But like with everyone, it's more...of an aesthetic thing. I know when someone's supposed to be attractive."
