Naia Vance, Fred, and George Weasley peered out of the 3rd floor corridor as they watched the greasy Hogwarts caretaker fumble with his office keys. They repressed the giggles on their faces as the caretaker screamed in frustration at the roar of what seemed to be a creature in his office. He was fumbling and grumbling as he finally tore the door open.
On his desk was a ball alarm that released the roar of a Chimera. Filch stared at the desk in anger and all of a sudden, dung bombs fell from the ceiling to his left and right.
The three were giggling madly as he exited his stinky office, searching left and right for the twins he knew had caused this. He had spotted a whip of George's hair from the corner and stormed after them.
"You!"
"Now, Naia!" Naia held the floor with her right fingertips and they watched as she turned it into ice. Filch slipped and slid on his bum, cursing the students as he struggled to get up. They had burst into laughter once more, and had began running away to the other direction. Filch must've gotten up because he began to run after them.
"Come back here you filthy kids! You're gonna pay for this!"
The worst they got was a detention with McGonagall, seeing as they technically did not use any magic in the hallways. Days went by, and as Naia and Hermione studied in the library during free periods, Adrian Pucey would often sit with her to talk and do work. She had thanked him for his Christmas gift, and gifted him a scarf in return. He even talked to Hermione as they studied, making her blush on occasion. She's never received this kind of attention from Slytherins, as Draco seemed to always have something nasty to say.
"So I hear you've got a Firebolt for Christmas. Boy am I excited to see you on the pitch."
"Bet that got you and the team shaking in the knees." Naia smirked.
"Not really, but you definitely do." He whispered the last part. She laughed, shaking her head. Adrian couldn't quite get the melodic sound out of his mind. She was something to marvel at for him. He didn't give a damn if he got shit from his team and Flint for spending more time with her.
Once Ron and Harry stumbled upon them in the library and gaped in shock at the sight of the girls laughing at something Adrian had said. They confronted them later on in the common room with Fred and George about it, saying it was fishy. Hermione retorted that it was none of their business before stomping up to the dorms.
"I don't see what the big deal is! He's a good guy beneath all the Slytherin prejudice everyone says!"
"He's not a good guy, Naia! He could be using you-"
"Or lying to you. It could be a facade-"
"We're just looking out for you..." George said. Naia sighed.
"I know you guys don't like it, but I'd like to make my own judgements for myself. If he really is who you think he is, then I'm sure I'll find out eventually. You two know better than anyone that I'm capable of handling him myself." Naia smirked.
"But- but, what if it's an emotional kind of hurt-" whined Fred.
"Then you both have permission to light his ass on fire, okay?" she laughed. Fred squeezed her tight and shook his head in refusal. She sighed at his stubbornness and ruffled his hair. As she did, the charm Adrian had given her dangled over his forehead. He caught her arm and looked at it. "Nice charm"
"Thanks." she said simply. She didn't want to mention who it was from- not after their conversation.
