While Mr. Shue was ecstatic over being given the opportunity to serve on a Blue Ribbon panel in Washington DC, he had been dreading delivering the news to the New Directions. With everyone in their seats, Mr. Shue decided that now was a good time to drop the news on them. "Alright guys, listen up. I have an announcement to make."

"Adele is dead!" Brittany said quickly.

Mr. Shue shook his head. "No. I've been asked to join a blue ribbon panel to rewrite the arts curriculum nationwide." As the students began to applaud and congratulate him, Mr. Shue continued with, "I'll be taking a short sabbatical, which means I'll be leaving McKinley at the end of the week."

Keilani's mouth dropped as several students made noises of shock. "Wait, what?" Tina protested. "This is crazy!"

"But Glee club is your life!" Artie said in disbelief.

"Which is why this was only temporary," Mr. Shue responded. "I'll be back right after Sectionals."

"Wait, after Sectionals?" Tina exclaimed in a horrified voice.

"Guys, calm down!" Mr. Shue yelled over the noise. "Look, I knew I needed to find a replacement, which is why I brought in Finn Hudson to take over Glee club."

"Mr. Shue, Finn cannot take over Glee club! He doesn't know what he's doing at all!" Tina said before realizing how mean that sounded. "Sorry, Finn!"

"Finn will be great!" Keilani interjected with a smile, trying to make the situation better. "I'm sure Finn will be awesome at leading us."

Finn smiled gratefully at Keilani. "Guys, I know I can do this, and I've got some really great ideas for Sectionals."

"We'll all be dead by then!" Tina screamed.

As chaos broke out in the room, Keilani for once didn't seem to be paying attention to what was happening in the room and was instead busy with something on her phone. When Sam happened to catch a glimpse of her phone screen, he almost began to laugh. "Are you mass ordering sparkling cider?"

Keilani turned her phone away from Sam. "...No."

A few seconds later, Mr. Shue dismissed the teenagers and they began to walk out the choir room. Keilani hooked her arm with Tina's and tried to reassure her with, "This could be a good thing! Maybe you'll finally get a big competition solo!"

"I can't sing a solo if I'm dead!"

Kitty had invited all the Glee girls over to her house for a sleepover, and while Keilani was hesitant on going, Brittany had showed up outside of Keilani's house in her car and had refused to leave until Keilani got in the passengers seat.
