After the complete disaster that was trying to put on Rocky Horror the previous week, Mr. Shue had decided that the New Directions were going to do something they were a lot more familiar with. Even though last time they did this, the students all decided they were going to drug themselves up to give better performances, they had seemed to learn from that and Mr. Shue was just hoping this week was going to go well.

In the choir room, everyone was excited to see Puck sitting back in his usual spot, who appeared to be showing off his new earring and muscle gain. After saying a quick hi, Keilani sat on the other side of the room and rested her head on Mercedes's shoulder, just wanting to hide from the rest of the world.

It had been ages since she had been made fun of by one of the Cheerio girls, especially given her friendship with the Unholy Trinity, but after stuttering nearly the entire way through her English presentation, the girls simply couldn't resist. Keilani seemed to be an easy target, and it didn't really matter how far she came. She'd always come right back to square one. Mercedes, sensing her distress, wrapped her arm around her and pulled her a little bit closer.

"Alright everyone, lets get down to business!" Mr. Shue slammed a packet of sheet music down on the piano, forcing Keilani to groan at the sound and bury her head even more into Mercedes. "First, let's welcome back Noah Puckerman. Puck, I hope your time in juvy has taught you a lesson or two about right or wrong."

Puck, being his normal cocky self, leaned back in his seat and rolled his eyes at Mr. Shue's naivety. "Are you kidding me?" He retorted. "I ruled that place. All I did was crack skulls and lift weights all day."

"Wow, what a catch, can't believe I ever let you go," Quinn muttered beside her.

Keilani couldn't find the strength even let out a weak laugh at Quinn's comment, and instead tuned out Mr. Shue talking about their upcoming competition at Sectionals. All she could pick out was something about an all-boys private school that Santana couldn't help but crack jokes about and a glee club filled with old people that Puck suggested shattering the pelvises of.

Mr. Shue, wanting to get off the subject of sabotage, decided to get into this week's assignment. "Since this seemed to get you guys got so jazzed about Sectionals last year, I want to make this week our second annual boys versus girl mashup tournament." Perking up in her seat, Keilani finally started paying attention and felt the excitement come rushing back in. Despite last year's mash-up week being a complete disaster, she had a lot of fun with the girls creating the number. "So! Split up into two groups and figure out what songs you're going to sing!"

All the girls grouped together on one side of the room and despite his best efforts, Kurt was sent off to the boys group. Rachel clapped her hands together, once again bringing the attention back to her. "Okay, I have mash-up ideas in my emergency mash-up..."
