"Hi, I'm Jacob Ben Isreal with Glee's big gay summer with all the glee club dish you're dying to know!"

Keilani stood at her locker as she tried to fiddle with the stuck lock that had yet to be fixed properly, despite her filing several complaints with Principal Figgins the previous year. Down the hall from her, she saw JBI interviewing Finn and Rachel. Knowing she could soon be his next target, Keilani messed with the lock even more, just trying to get her textbooks into her locker as soon as she could. She breathed a sigh of relief when it finally opened and she shoved them inside messily.

"Keilani!" She quietly cursed and turned, immediately facing a camera being shoved towards her. "How are you feeling about inevitably spending another year in all the glee clubs members and your older brother's shadow?"

"I don't spend any time in anyone's shadow," she mumbled quietly, trying to almost hide in her locker.

"Really? Because that's not what not what the online forums are saying." JBI shoved the microphone further in Keilani's face which caused her to flinch back. "Are you really the family disappointment they think you are?"

Keilani couldn't think of a response to that question and became more and more panicked by the second. She really wished he would just pay attention to Quinn who was nearby, but she also knew he likely wouldn't leave her alone until he was satisfied with her answer.

That's why she was eternally grateful when Mercedes, who had sensed her distress from a mile away, grabbed her by the elbow and pulled her away from JBI, who had already decided that Quinn was in fact a better target. "Thank you so much. I swear he's going to get a restraining order one of these days," Keilani muttered as she held her books a little bit tighter to her chest. "Did he harass you too?"

Mercedes shook her head and breathed a sigh of relief. "Nope. And for that I am eternally grateful."

The two of the laughed as they made their way down the hallway together, waving excitedly at fellow glee club members and avoided jocks who may have had a slushee waiting for them. Keilani's mouth nearly dropped when she saw Tina and Mike holding hands, which was a combination she hadn't really seen coming but would probably be sweet nonetheless.

Mercedes talked for most of the way about the vocal intensive camp she had taken that summer, which had both her and Keilani hoping that that would be what would tip her over the edge in the Mercedes vs Rachel battle. Keilani had been her biggest supporter since the day they met and had a feeling that this would be the year where she would finally be standing the spotlight.

Of course, Keilani was really hoping to have the chance of having even a small solo at a competition. Most of freshman year, she was scared to even speak, but now that she was a sophomore she had a little bit more confidence. Plus, her family had made it their mission to come to every performance or competition this year so she was really hoping they would have the chance to see her perform a solo.
