Finn's first official lesson with the Glee club was a complete disaster. From the poor lesson idea to the markers constantly breaking to not even noticing the missing Nationals trophy, Finn felt like he was failing before he had even really started.
Even though Keilani tried her best to keep the mood up throughout the meeting, even she couldn't deny that things had kind of fallen apart that day. While everyone else had left the choir room long before, Keilani hung back, wanting to talk to Finn to try and get his spirits back up again.
"I'm a disaster," Finn mumbled, his voice muffled from his head being hidden in his hands. "I'm trying, and I'm pretty sure I'm failing. I don't want to be the reason that we lose Sectionals."
"You're completely new to this," Keilani reassured as she sat down on the piano bench next to Finn. "It's normal to make mistakes. Think about how many Mr. Shue has made, and we just won Nationals last year!"
"Did he ever have an idea that bad?"
Keilani wanted to say "Yes", but she knew how much Finn idolized Mr. Shue, so she held back from saying that. Instead she said, "Your idea...wasn't the best. But we've had so many bad ideas in the past. Remember that awful 'Push It' performance? That was one of the first ideas we came up with, and that was a disaster."
A big grin grew on Keilani's face, and she nudged Finn repeatedly until he removed his head from his hands and looked up at Keilani. Despite his dejected mood, Finn couldn't help but crack a small smile when he saw the optimistic look on Keilani's face. "But we came back from that! You'll figure out a good idea, trust me. You've got this, Finn Hudson."

Inspired by the newly established Superhero club at McKinley, Finn had made the week superhero-themed and assigned duets to the four new sophomores in the New Directions. Ryder and Jake's duet was going really well, and Finn had become hopeful that maybe the week wouldn't be as much of a disaster as he thought it would.
That was until the two boys began shoving each other, their anger and frustration growing before Jake eventually punched Ryder in the face and Ryder shoved Jake into the stack of music stands.
As Sugar screamed beside Keilani, Finn and Sam jumped into the fight, pulling the two boys away from each other before any more punches could be thrown. Once they were pulled apart, Keilani grabbed Jake and Ryder by the ears and pulled them out of the choir room. Despite their yelps of pain, Keilani dragged them by their ears down the hallway and into an empty nearby classroom before throwing them down into the empty chairs.
"Are you two crazy!" Keilani yelled before either of them had the chance to get a word in. "A physical fight? Are you kidding me right now?"
