59 | "wonder-ful"

Regionals was in just over a week, and Mr. Shue had called back Mike and Mercedes to help coach get the New Directions ready for the competition. Kurt was back as well and was helping out the Glee club when he could, but his close friends knew he was the real reason he was there. With Burt's test results coming in just a few short days about whether he was cancer-free or not, Kurt was incredibly anxious and worried, but was trying his best to hide it.

Despite his anxious feelings, Kurt couldn't help but breath a small sigh of relief when him, Mercedes, and Keilani reunited in the middle of the McKinley hallway. As the three were enveloped in a giant group hug, Kurt sighed, "God, I missed you two so badly."

When the three separated, Keilani quietly asked, "How are you? How's your dad doing?"

"As good as he can be right now," Kurt sighed. "I just want these test results back already so I just have more of an idea about what to do next."

"I'm sure the results will be good news," Mercedes reassured. "And even if the results aren't what you hoped, we're here for you either way."

"Thanks you guys, but I don't exactly want to talk about it anymore right now," Kurt responded, taking a deep breath before looking back at the two girls with a smile. "What I want to know was why Mr. Shue chose Stevie Wonder."

"The New Directions are in need of a little bit of a confidence booster, and Kurt over here needs something a little bit uplifting, so I thought Stevie Wonder would be the perfect choice and suggested it," Mercedes said happily, hooking her arms with her two best friends as she began to walk with them down the hallway. "Fortunately, Mr. Shue agrees with me, so we're about to spend the week diving into the wonder-ful discography of Stevie! Come on, you two! Let's get to rehearsal!"

As Keilani made drinks for her friends behind the Lima Bean counter, several of the New Directions alumni along with Blaine were catching up in the middle of the coffee shop.

"Hey, guys!" Keilani greeted happily as she carried over a large tray of drinks for the group. "I managed to my manager to let me take my ten-minute break so I could hang out. Are you talking about Mercedes' new music video again?"

"Totally," Mercedes answered. "You know, it's got to be bumping, and fast and furious, but also soulful and smooth, but like 'smoov', you know. Like smooth with a 'v'. And I want eleganza. I want club-kid sickness. I was fresh, fresh, fresh. It's got to pop."

"You are so L.A. right now, it's breathless," Kurt commented with a small chuckle.

Mercedes laughed and looked over to Mike, asking, "Mike knows what I'm talking about, right?"
