Despite many of New Directions dealing with the trauma of the gun going off the previous week, Mr. Shue was trying to get back to normal and start really getting ready for Regionals in just a few weeks. He had finally come up with a set list for the competition, and he had just finished printing up the sheet music and was incredibly excited to present it to the teenagers.

"Big news, guys," He announced once class began. "I just got a direct tweet from the greater Midwest Regionals high school show choir board of directors."

Everyone began to cheer excitedly. Mr. Shue was just about to jump into announcing the theme, but he couldn't help but notice a small, repeating tapping noise, and when he looked down, he saw one of Keilani's bright yellow high-tops bouncing repeatedly on the ground. "Keilani, why do you keep tapping your feet like that?" He questioned.

"I just need to go to the bathroom," She mumbled under her breath. "I can wait until after rehearsal though."

Mr. Shue shrugged it off and continued with, "The theme for this year's Regionals is..."

"Sweaters," Brittany interjected in a hopeful voice.

"Dreams."

Brittany sighed disappointedly. "So close."

"A dream is a wish your heart makes..." Keilani quietly sang, earning a quiet giggle from Tina next to her.

"Some of the past judges we've had haven't been bright...or that sober, so our best bet is to take the dream theme literally" Mr. Shue continued. "So, we'll start out 'Dream Weaver', and then we'll segue into 'Sweet Dreams', and then we'll bring it home with 'You Make My Dreams Come True'!"

Mr. Shue's face fell when he saw the lack of positive reception within the group, and he couldn't help but focus in on a certain brunette girl in the front row. "Marley, you're frowning."

Her cheeks flushed as she became embarrassed over being called out like that in front of the club. "I just...I don't know any of these songs."

"You'll know it soon enough because we're learning them today."

In that moment, Marley finally gathered the courage to ask, "Maybe could we try some original songs, like you did two years ago?"

"Yeah, my twin brother Sam you guys totally crushed Regionals two years ago with those sweet tunes," Sam added in an Australian accent. "He said one of the girls who wrote the songs was wicked hot, too."

Keilani raised an eyebrow and nudged him in the side. "Did he now?"

Wanting to move on from the topic of original songs as quickly as he could, Mr. Shue turned to Marley and answered, "That was a different time, and a different team."
