The slithering serpent was easily discernible on the ghastly white skin of the man in front of Y/n. Her eyes didn't believe the male could be alive. He was so pale. His hair had to be bleached a hundred times to become as white as snow. His eyes were as dark as his soul- such a vast contrast to everything else about him.
"Lord Danzo has requested your presence," his voice was like a grating to her ears.
Shivering, Y/n wrapped her arms around herself, "Who are you?" Her voice was uncertain.
His lips cracked into a feral grin, "Shin," he said simply, "Lord Danzo sent me to fetch you."
Y/n was uncomfortable as the man stood in her doorway. "Why? Ry-"
The grin split into what Y/n could only describe as a manic smile- he was insane. "Master Ry is not in charge," Shin shrugged, schooling his face. "Lord Danzo wishes to discuss some things with you. He sees you have potential."
Placing a hand on her door, Y/n went to slam it closed as she gave a defiant, "No."
Shin's face twisted again, this time in a look of pure delight. She was putting up a fight, just like he loved. With a foot and a hand, Shin held the door open. Shoving it back, he caught Y/n in the face, busting her lip open and causing her to yelp in surprise. Shin moved quickly, wrapping an arm around her waist and clamping a hand over her mouth.
"Shhh," he rasped in her ear. "Good girls get rewarded." Y/n grimaced as chilled fingers flexed on her exposed stomach as he lifted her shirt. "Bad girls get punished, Deary."

Obito could see the distant look in his wife's eyes as they made the drive home. At the precinct, the rest of the time was Y/n recounting what she knew about Shin, which was very little. She knew his age and first name. As well as his laundry list of hits and crimes. She thought he was dead, disappearing not too long before she moved to Konoha.
Kakashi and Obito both could tell that Shin had left an impression on Y/n. What kind of impression wouldn't be known for quite some time. Kakashi promised to keep the couple informed over the next few days but insisted that Y/n avoid going out in public. Obito knew that she would protest, but she would wait to do it. Thinking that she would be able to trick the two males into a false sense of security.
Pulling into the parking garage, Obito turned the car off. Y/n sat still as she stared out the window. Taking her hand into his, Obito looked at her as she turned her head. Her eyes were tired, but Obito saw the lingering emotions hidden behind them. The ugly beast of jealousy warred within Obito as he thought over the last 24 hours.
Kakashi. Zabuza. Kisame. Even Rasa. Then there was Shisui. His world was spiraling out of control. Could Obito save it? Could he save her? Could he save them?
"What happened with Rasa?" Obito asked in a hushed tone.
Y/n's lip twitched ever so slightly, "I was wondering when you were going to ask." Dropping her gaze to their hands for a moment, Y/n took a deep breath in. "Madara has been in contact with him." She stated as she lifted her head again.
Obito's face fell, "Are you sure?"
Nodding, Y/n explained, "When he grabbed my arm, he told me that Madara would never let me walk away. I wanted to talk to Zabuza and Kakashi beforehand because we pulled a folder from the box and kept it hidden. Rasa knows more than he's letting on." She didn't pause long enough for him to ask any questions. She hoped the longer explanation would warrant no further investigation on Obito's part.
Obito's brows furrowed, "Such as?" He was curious if she was going to try and avoid telling him or not.
Tilting her head, Y/n observed her husband while she thought over what to say. She could lie. She could withhold part of the information. Or, she could tell him everything. Lies coated their marriage. Blood covered their hands. The foundation they stood on was cracked. It was only a matter of time before one final earthquake would befall them- breaking them apart completely.
