Let Me

Standing in the bathroom, Y/n held her forehead in her hand. Rubbing at her temples, she took a calming breath in. Holding it for a few seconds, she slowly exhaled. The headaches were likely a combination of stress and hormones. And nothing was working against them. She knew better than to take the narcotic that she held in her hand, but the poor woman just wanted to sleep.

But she should tell Obito. Did she have to, though? Dropping her hand away, Y/n looked at herself in the mirror. Somehow, she's managed only to lose five pounds in the last three weeks. That was Vivekka's most significant worry for Y/n when she followed up with her. The damn nurse was making Y/n go back in another ten days too.

Walking into the living room, Y/n spoke without lifting her gaze. "Bito, I'm going to take this and then take a nap."

The Friday afternoon sun filled the penthouse with sunlight. As Y/n looked up, she noticed that Obito wasn't the only person that was in the penthouse. Blinking, she waited for either male to respond.

"What is it?" Obito made his way closer to Y/n.

Taking her hand into his, he lifted it. As Y/n opened her palm, she answered, "A Vicodin," she answered plainly. "I have a migraine."

Concern filled Obito's gaze, "Why don't you sit down and talk to us for a few minutes," Obito plucked the pill from Y/n's palm before putting it in the pocket of his slacks. Hand at her back, Obito added, "Then I'll massage your neck to help your headache."

Headache. Y/n wished Obito knew how the migraines affected her. Sure, sometimes they were just bad headaches, though they were still classified as migraines. But then she had the ones like she's having now. Sound bleeds into her body, and everything begins to ache. Light stings and makes her wince. She should take her contacts out to see if it helps any. The vice around her head seems to cover from the base of her skull all the way to her orbital bone.

It HURT.

As Y/n sat, the guest in their home finally spoke. "You've avoided talking about the phone call for over three weeks now, Y/n." He sat down on the love seat while Obito and Y/n took the couch, "I need to know what he said, Babe."

"Zabuza," Y/n began, "I haven't avoided anything. I told you both what he said. He drabled on and on about how he wanted me all to himself that he could prove his love for me."

Obito's hand rubbed slow circles in her back. This was an attempt to calm her and ease her pain.

"Asami," he spoke tenderly, "we just need to know if there was anything that might hint at what he's planning."

"He's planning on finding a way to make you leave me," she snapped bitterly. "I think that's pretty obvious."

Stopping his movements, Obito tried not to respond as harshly as she had. Moving again, Obito explained, "Have you remembered anything else that maybe you forgot before?"

Turning her head slightly, Y/n thought for a moment. But, of course, there were things she didn't tell the two men. Plenty of things, but there was one tidbit of information she was trying to

figure out how to throw out there. Like casting a line into the ocean. Pulling back, holding the thin line, casting out, and waiting. Would he take the bait?

"He did try and convince me that Danzo was still alive," Y/n's eyes were like a hawk's as she observed Zabuza. Obito was focused on him as well, but Y/n doubted that Obito saw the nearly undetectable twitch below Zabuza's left eye.

Disbelieving the words, Obito asked, "He expects us to believe that? How would that even be possible? Shizune herself said that he died in surgery." Obito focused on his wife again.

With a small shrug, Y/n continued as she watched Zaubzua, "Apparently, the Suna FBI placed him into protective custody. I told him he was insane if he thought I would believe such a thing. Just another lie for him to tell, trying to get me to doubt all of you around me."

There was a silent stare down. Zabuza was unwavering as Y/n held his eyes. While she knew he couldn't out and out say the words, she understood he could give her a signal. A code word to tell her that she was right. To tell her that Madara Uchiha had told the truth. And to admit that he had been lying to her all this time.

"Something like that would be almost impossible to hide from the public eye," Zabuza's words hurt Y/n into the pit of her soul. There was a pit there. Has been for quite some time. "Let alone, how would Madara find out?"

A minor slip up, perhaps, but it wasn't a big enough one for Obito to pick up on. "Doesn't matter," Y/n smiled, "I didn't believe a word that came out of his mouth." Then, looking at her husband, Y/n asked, "Can I have the pill, please? I'm tired, Bito, and I want to get some sleep before the girls come home tomorrow."

They had planned on keeping Kikyo and Tsuki with them all weekend. A nice break. Something to seem normal again. They wanted to try and act as though nothing was wrong with their lives for at least a couple of days. Sure, it was strange in a sense. Kikyo wasn't in school right now. Tsuki wasn't in her preschool anymore. But they wanted something that resembled normal in their life.

"I don't mind rubbing your back, Asami," Obito wanted to do something sweet for Y/n. He wanted an intimate moment with her.

Standing, Zabuza excused himself, "I just wanted to check in," he took a few steps, "If there's anything else, let me know."

Not only had Y/n's words been a test for Zabuza, but it was also Y/n's way of telling Zabuza that there was more to her conversation with Madara. And Zabuza picked up on her message loud and clear. Exiting the penthouse without objection, Zabuza closed the door behind him.

"Come on, Asami," Obito stood, helping Y/n do the same. "I'm serious," she looked at him, "let me take care of you."

Turning, Y/n walked in front of Obito to the bedroom. "I still want the pill, Obito. This headache is horrible. Like after I had Tsuki."

Unsure if he should trust the words or not, Obito didn't want to argue with her. Reluctantly, Obito reached into his pocket before saying, "Here," Y/n turned as she sat on the side of the bed,

"I'll go change while you get undressed."

"Bito-"

"I'm serious, Y/n," she took the pill from him as he told her, "I want to feel your skin against mine, Asami. I want to hold you close. I want to hear you sigh as I knead your flesh. I want to love you."

Tears stung as Y/n fought them away, "Bito," she whispered. With a soft shake of her head, she said, "We can't-"

"I know, Asami," his smile was somewhere between sly and sad, "while I've missed your body that way too, I've missed you." As Y/n nodded, Obiot stepped away to walk for the bathroom.

Shakily, Y/n's hand reached for the bottle of water beside the bed. Ignoring the voice in her head, Y/n took the pill in one quick swallow. Then, stripping to nothing but her panties, Y/n laid across the bed. She was only spotting now, but she still wore a light panty liner. Closing her eyes, Y/n tried to relax her mind and body while she waited for the man that was trying to show his love to her.

The bed at her feet dipped as Obito crawled above her. Bracing his weight on his forearms, Obito gently pressed his body to Y/n's. Obito took his fingers and traced Y/n's arm, leaning to his right. His finger slid to her wedding ring before leaving nonsense designs on her skin. Lips pressed to her back, Obito kissed wherever he pleased.

"Let me love you again, Asami," Obito rasped into her ear. He could hear the soft cries as she fought about the sob. "I will never walk out on you again." She shook her head slightly. "Asami," his tone was knowing, "Losing the baby had nothing to do with you. Or your body. You didn't fail me. So please," he kissed her cheek, "let me love you."
