A Misunderstanding

"I just don't know what I did wrong, I thought I was doing something good" You sighed as you played with Erwin's hand.

Erwin intertwined his hand with yours as he pulled you into him.

"I'm sorry Y/N, You know how a hard head Shadis tends to be"

He laid his chin on top of your head.

"Do you think maybe if you tried telling him that you looked over my cadets, he'll listen to you?"

You looked up at him with a bit of hope, hoping maybe Shadis will believe Erwin and won't see you in the wrong limelight.

Erwin sighs as he plants a kiss on your forehead.

"We both know that won't work. He'll find it bias since he already knows how close we are, if anything he'd think I'm covering for you. It'd make both of us look bad"

"Yeah, maybe you're right. Sorry I asked"

"Don't apologize, you're simply stressed. Although..."

"Although?"

Your heart began to palpitate.

"Although I do think Shadis has a point about you hanging out a lot with your comrades"

"You really think so? Is it that bad?!" 

"I'm afraid so... You should be hanging out more with me" he smiled at you as he eloped you into his arms.

"I hate you" you said with a smile on your face.

"No, You love me" he said snuggling into your neck.

"Yeah, Yeah whatever Blondie"

Thinking about Shadis' words, you decided to get all your work done first before you ever go to hang out with your friends. And you couldn't help but have thanked him for with words. Getting your work done all in a day or two resulted in you having more free time and not stressing about having to stay to do your work.

You hummed as you began walking down the stables, looking to get your horse and Erwins. Since it was the weekend and both of you had finished your work, Erwin wanted to invite you to go out on a little date, out in the nearest town.

As you began saddling up your horse, you began to hear voices talking in the stables. You peeked your head to see who it was and to your surprise it was Jean talking to a female with raven black hair. You squinted your eyes to get a better look at who it was. You finally realized it was Mikasa when you spotted the red scarf wrapped around her.

"I-I Just. I don't know, I guess- Just wanted to say good work out there you totally kicked ass" said Jean as he awkwardly stretched out his hand to Mikasa.

Mikasa looked down at his hand then back up to him.

"Thanks. I gotta go" with that she turned around and left the stables.

Jean began to mentally beat himself up, embarrassed by that awkward interaction he had with Mikasa. He began walking down to the other doors not wanting anyone to see he was alone with Mikasa in the stables.

"Hey" you said as you sat on a stable door swinging out your legs.

Jean turned to you with a shocked face, he looked down at the ground.

"Please don't tell me you heard that"

"Every word soldier"

Jean huffed out in embarrassment while you just chuckled at his flustered face.

"Hey, It wasn't that bad. I mean you managed to spit something out. If anything I salute you, she reminds me a lot of Levi with that cold presence of hers, you just gotta wait for her to warm up to you"

Jean leaned on the stable across from you as he looked at you.

"How'd you do it?"

"How'd I do what?"

"How'd you end up with Levi?"

"What do you mean?"

"Like how did you conquer his cold heart? How did you make him love you?"

"Love her?" said Levi approaching the two of you. He leaned on the wall of the stable next to you.

Jean froze seeing him.

"I'm so sorry Captain Levi, I'm shouldn't be asking about your relationship with Y/N"

You and Levi stared at each other blinking a few times, you both looked at Jean then back at each other again. You both erupted into laughter.

"Jean, I swear you're too funny seriously" you said.

You jumped off the stable as you went over to Levi. You puckered your lips at him.

"Oh sweet love of mine give me a kiss to show the boy how much we love each other"

Levi rolled his eyes as he pushed your face away from him.

"No Kirstein, you must be mistaken. Me and Y/N are simply acquaintances, nothing more"

"Yeah, don't be weird. I think I deserve better than him. He's an asshole"

"Watch it"

"Tell me I'm wrong"

"Shut it"

Jean's mouth hanged opened at the new information. A relief washed over him as he knew he'd no longer loose any limbs talking to you.

"Oh, My apologizes, it's all I've been hearing about" 

Levi lifted his brow, "What do you mean that's all you been hearing?"

"Captain Levi sir, All the new cadets believe you and Y/N are in a relationship"

"What?!" you both said in unison.

"Shit, Erwin's gonna flip his lid when he finds out" you mumbled.

"And why would he flip his lid?" Levi turns to you.

"Because-I. Oh shit I totally forgot I was suppose to meet up with Erwin right now"

You began to turn to grab the horses.

"He asked you?"

"Geez, you hate when I snoop into your personal life yet here you are doing it to mine."

"Tell me"

You looked at the white stallion in front of as you stood quiet for a moment.

"... I said yes"

Jean looked at you. Does this mean there was an open slot for him to have shoot his shot and he missed it? He mentally cursed himself again as you and Levi began to argue back and fourth.

"What about all those things we discussed before?!"

"Levi, I don't want to argue right now, I have to go, seriously"

"tch. This isn't over " 

"Yes it is." you said as you grabbed the two horses and headed out.

"See yah Jean" you said throwing a hand up.

Jean turned to Levi as you left.

"She's an imbecile" he muttered under his breathe before turning on his feet and walking out the opposite direction.

Jean stood there confused not entirely sure what happened in front of his eyes.
