"Alright Brats, follow me" Levi called out to his group of cadets.

The group all followed behind him as they began walking down a dirt path and into the practice forest. They chatted away as the cadets linked up with their friends. Sasha piggybacked on Connie as Marco and Jean chatted away.

Jean looked at the surrounding greenery for a moment before he spoke up.

"I think I like her"

"Like who?" asked Marco

"Y/N"

Marco let out a grin. It was very obvious for all his friends to see how crazy he was about you. Always talking about you and always leaving the group hang outs early to go hang out with you.

It was just too obvious. He was a drooling fool for you.

"Oh, I know Jean"

Jean looked over at Marco who held a smile.

"But, I think you should try again and tell me how you really feel"

Jean paused for a moment to think. The thought of your presence just sent butterflies in his stomach as a wave of joy washed upon him. You always made him happy, no matter what situation the both of you were surrounded by.

All he wanted to do was hold your hand, embrace you and maybe steal a kiss. He wanted the safety and comfort of your arms. He wanted those late night cuddles and talks with you all the time. He dreaded the feel of warmth from the sun as the sun rays hit his face, it was the sign that his time with you was over and that your friendship will go on pause as your relationship of Advisor and Cadet began to resume once again.

But what was this overall feeling of happiness? Love?

is that what you made him feel? Is this how he felt about you? he loved you?

His eyes widen at the tiny realization. He looked at Marco who just nodded at him. He fumbled with his fingers as the words caught into his throat.

"I-I love-"

Your voice cut through the air.

"Finally! What took so long?!"

You stood there with your hands on your hips as your group stood behind you.

"Well, we're here now" said Levi as he stood on your side as he turned to face his group.

"Alright, group up with Y/N's group"

Levi's cadets walked over and linked up with your group as they began chatting away, confused with the new situation at hand.

"Quiet down, You can talk about who likes who later." you joked.

The whole group snickered as they began to quiet down.

"Good, Now that all the fresh meat is here. I have some important news."

You began to walk up and down as you held your hands behind your back.

"I wanted to inform you that you will be going on your very first expedition soon"

Everyone's eyes widen at the news. Even Connie and Sasha froze. The cadets erupted into endless chatter. Fear began fogging up their minds.

"I know nerve racking news, but-"

"You're all gonna shut up and accept it" interrupted Levi.

"Oi! You're being a bit too harsh" you whispered to him.

"They need to learn to accept it" he retorted.

You glared at him before you return your attention to the group of cadets in front of you.

"Right, Well we have 2 months to prepare before we're off. Me and Levi have decided to work together to train all of you so you can all be at your best capacities. I want nothing, but perfect soldiers"

You bit your tongue, afraid to include the new leadership role.

"Seems like Y/N forgot to include an important factor. Advisor Y/N and Advisor Smith will both be leading this expedition. And further more, All expeditions afterwards will be led by one of them and be assigned as the new Survey Corps Commander. I do have faith however it will end up being Advisor Y/N"

All eyes immediately landed on you. You sent them an uneasy smile, not really sure how to respond at their reaction.

"Thank You Captain Ackerman, but I don't think the last part was necessary."

"It was absolutely necessary"

You didn't respond, you turned your back as you looked up at the trees. You side eyed the mock titans that hid ready to pounce.

"Alright, enough talking gear up and let's start. We have a lot to do"

---

Tired, sweaty cadets dragged themselves out of the practice forest as they headed to the mess hall.

Their feet contained pluses along with blisters from their feet to their hands from the hard practice and harsh grips on the blades. There were burn marks from odm gear incidents and scratches and bruises from failed attempts of slashing titans.

You swung out your feet as you sat on a branch on top of a tree peering down at the cadets exiting the forest.

You couldn't help, but feel bad for the harsh training you and Levi had forced upon them today.

They're definitely gonna be sore in the morning.

You felt pressure being added to the branch you sat on, a sign of a presence.

"How are they doing?"

Your eyes stayed casted down at the ground. Your face monotone.

"They're doing well. No complaints"

"So, they'll be ready by then?"

Your eyes landed on your favorite tiny man walking around looking up aimlessly up at the tress trying to spot you. You can see the frustration and irritation on his face all the way from up there.

He looks even smaller from up here.

You got up and brushed yourself off. You stood at the edge of the branch.

"Yes, they'll be ready"

Erwin watched you as you swung yourself down to the ground. You Swung towards Levi, startling him. He watched as he covered his head and ducked down to floor as you swung past him full speed, laughing at him. Levi stood up and began chasing after you out of the forest throwing threats and insults at you.

Erwin leaned on the bark of the tree. His eyes were half lidded as he kept his stare fixated on the ground. His eyes flickered forward to the green of trees in front of him.

A deep sigh escaped from his lungs as he ran his hands down his face.

"At least she likes the forest"
