Hands off Her

Another slammed door and gritted teeth from Erwin. He slammed himself down on his chair. 

It just isn't fair.

Sure the odds were in his way, Shadis believed you and praised Erwin for his so called work. His plan was even chosen to be the route and all of the scouts will know it was his idea. Another brilliant strategy from the Savior himself. Another point for him, a step into the lead. 

But Shadis. He always seems to take you into consideration. As if you were his favorite. But why not Erwin? Why not him? After all, he's done nothing but follow behind Shadis all time. Always sitting with him and conversating.

His brows furrowed as the early conversation dawned on him.

-FLASHBACK-

"Smith, brilliant idea! True work of a Commander, but do apologize to L/N"

The smile that began when Shadis spoke quickly disappeared. His happy features turned into an annoyed one. 

"Although you have every right to be upset with the situation. As a Commander, you must learn to refrain yourself from acting out a show in front of everyone. That Is very unprofessional, instead maybe do what L/N did and excuse yourself if you can't handle yourself. And as her partner don't embarrass her in front of everyone"

Erwin just stared at him with dull eyes and a straight lip. He doesn't understand, he finally got a lead and it already started backfiring.

"Yes Sir, you're completely right I wasn't thinking. Forgive me"

"Don't apologize to me, apologize to L/N. And I better see you guys talk something out, I don't want my best two men fighting. Understood?"

"Understood"

"Great. Besides that Good job on today Smith"

-END OF FLASHBACK-

He sighed before he composed himself. He rose from his chair and made his way to your door. He knocked on it waiting for a response, but yet the door never opened. 

He didn't even look surprised.He knew this was coming, but netherless he wasn't doing this for you, he was doing it for his own benefit, because Shadis told him too and like a good advisor that's what he's suppose to do

He knocked again on the door, harder this time. 

Nothing.

Anger began to seep through. He didn't have time for this. He opened the door and came in uninvited. His eyes scanned the room and froze at the scene of two figures sleeping. And for some reason a stab of pain, anger and jealousy revolted around Erwin.

Your head leaned on Jean's shoulder as your arms held onto his right arm. Jean's head laid on top of yours as he lightly snored. Both of you were sound asleep.

Erwin blinked not believing the sight in front of him. He stomped in front of your figures and grabbed you by the collar and ripped you off of Jean.

Your eyes opened as you felt yourself fall harshly onto your knees. You opened your eyes and looked up in confusion. Your heart stopped as you looked at Erwin towering over you.

"You" you whispered.

You felt your eyes wanting to water from just looking at him, your betrayer.

Erwin didn't respond, he turned his head to Jean.

"Cadet!" his voice boomed through your office, waking up a startled Jean.

Jean's eyes looked terrified as he sees Erwin with dark eyes. 

"Out of this room, this instant" he barked.

Jean quickly rose to his feet, but then noticed you on the ground. Instead of leaving he ran to your aid and picked you up. He led you back to the couch and sat with you. His eyes widen as he saw the look on your face. He had never seen you in such a sad and hurt state. He began to worry. He couldn't leave you alone now. Whatever had happened between you and Erwin, he could tell it had badly taken a tole on you. He had to protect you.

This is what Levi meant when he said take care of her.

"Listen to your advisor and leave" Erwin boomed again.

Jean placed his hand on yours and gave you a squeeze. He looked up and meet the eyes of Erwin.

"Forgive me Advisor Smith, but I was ordered not to allow you and L/N to be alone"

Erwin looked at his hand on yours. His eyes began to burn. He grabbed Jeans arm and squeezed it harshly, twisting it.

"Take your hands off her Cadet, before I break it myself"

He let go and turned to you. Erwin grabbed your arm and pulled you off the couch causing you to slam onto the floor once again. 

"Get up and let's go Y/N"

You looked blankly at his arm that still held onto you. It felt..cold. His warm touch had disappeared, only a rough callous hand held your now bruised skin. You looked up at Erwin, the sense of loving him had finally come to an end. You looked over and saw Jean, he looked afraid of the situation. 

You couldn't allow him to see you that way, this was not how an Advisor should present themselves in front of their cadets. You blinked your tears away as the frown on your face turned into a hard straight lip. Bored eyes appeared on your face.

"let me go Smith. You've embarrassed me enough today. I won't allow you to embarrass me in front of my cadet" you said in your soldier voice.

"If you let me talk to you, then I'll save you the embarrassment" he gritted.

You jerked your arm away from his grasp. Your eyes harden as you stared at Erwin for a moment.

 You turned your head to Jean as you gave him a warm smile trying to comfort him.

"Cadet Kirstein, forgive me, but I must command you to stay"

"But-"

"I'm sure you and Captain Ackerman mean well, but this is my personal business."

His eyes widen. How did you know it was him? 

"B-"

"Kirstein, do not disobey my authority"

Jean nodded. You gave him a smile along with a little wink of reassurance before you followed Erwin out of your office quietly. 

Once alone, he began pacing back and forth worried. 

He had let you go alone with him when he was ordered not to.

But you commanded him to stay. You held more power than Levi, he had no choice.

But the thought of Erwin grabbing you the way he did made Jean's stomach flip in unease. He could still feel the way Erwin had harshly grabbed his arm. He looked down and his eyes grew wide at the sight of his now bruised skin from Erwin's harsh contact. 

There was no way he could leave you alone with him. Not with that violent touch of his, he needed to make sure he kept his hands off you.

He had to alert Levi.

Without a second thought more, he ran to Levi's office.
