Dark 35: Realizations

Ethan's POV

It's almost five in the afternoon but we are still here inside my office. Hindi na kami um-attend ng mga klase namin dahil alam ko din namang hindi kami makakapag-isip nang maayos.

I pity Ehra for what happened to her. But I won't risk anything just to save her.

Everything is complicated right now and we don't even know what to do next. Everything turned upside down and surviving became harder for us.

I don't know but I feel like we have no direction. That our main goal was somehow altered to something I cannot tell. Pakiramdam ko parang walang saysay lahat.

And I also don't know why I'm feeling that.

I just sighed and stood up. Napatingin naman sila sa akin kaya nagkibit balikat ako.

"Let's go home."

They just nodded and silently stood up. It's funny how our mood can go downhill just like that.

Palabas na sana kami ng office ko nang biglang mag-ring ang phone ni Black. Halos mapasapo na lang ako sa noo ko dahil mukhang may hindi na naman magandang nangyayari.

Can't they give us some rest? Ugh.

"Razed—"

We frowned when we noticed how Black froze. He slowly looked at us as I saw his fists clenching.

He ended the call.

"Shadows' and Gehenna's hedquarters are being attacked by Ruffians. DO sent us as backups. We need to go!"

Nagkatinginan lang kami bago mabilis na lumabas ng office ko. As we enter the mini forest, the bell rang, indicating class dismissal.

We didn't pay attention to that and just jumped over the wall at the end of the forest. Sumakay kami kaagad sa van at sinimulan ni Stephen ang mag-drive.

"Let's fetch the heiresses," sabi ko. "If DO sent us as backups, that means the situation is worse. Mas mabuting nandoon na din ang heiresses."

Tumango lang naman si Stephen habang nagtanong si Giovanni.

"Hindi ko maintindihan. Bakit naman susugudin ng Ruffians ang Shadows at Gehenna?"

"It's probably because of that Lorenzo Pascual."

I frowned. "But Shadows have him. Why do they still need to attack Gehenna? That doesn't make any sense."

"I don't know, Ethan. I don't know."

Natahimik kami sa sinabi ni Black. We saw the heiresses walking at the parking lot so Stephen pulled over in front of them.

Giovanni opened the door.

"Sakay!"

Kaye frowned. "Anong sakay? Bakit kami sasakay?"

I almost made a facepalm.

"Just hop in! We're in a hurry!"

Yumi raised her brow. "And so?"

Halos mapabuntong hininga na lang ako sa katigasan ng ulo nila. Then I noticed Kiana talking to someone on the phone. Her expression suddenly changed so I think someone already informed her.

"Get in or we'll drag the four of you," Black said.

Halos mapakunot noo naman kami nang tumakbo si Kiana papunta sa pinto ng driver's seat. She seriously looked at Stephen which made him gulp.

"Baba."

"B-baki—"

"Bababa ka o papatayin kita?"
