Special Chapter #1: Demeter

Black's POV

I was busy signing some papers when someone knocked on my door. I didn't pay attention to it but I heard the door opening and felt Reggie's presence entering my office.

"We have a problem, sir."

"What is it?"

I still didn't look at him and continued what I was doing before he entered. Although, I kept my ears focused on him.

"The leaders of Italian Underground Federation are still waiting in the conference room. And they are getting angry while waiting."

"Then call Kithania. She's the one who was assigned to meet them after all."

"W-well, about that..."

I stopped from writing when Reggie stuttered. I raised my head and looked at him for I suddenly had a bad feeling about this.

He cleared his throat.

"The leaders are angry because Miss Kithania was late. When we went to her house and reminded her about them, she told us she's not going to meet them and we should make them leave the village," he said and I frowned. "The other Royalties are currently not present and you were the only one here so we thought we should ask you instead."

She refused to meet them?

I rested my back against the swivel chair. Kithania decided to be absent in an important meeting and refused to meet important people.

No wonder they were furious.

But knowing her, she must have a reason for suddenly doing that. She agreed to meet them in the first place after all.

So why did she change her mind?

I sighed. "Go to them and say the meeting was cancelled. Tell them we're just going to reschedule the meeting."

"But what reason should I tell them, sir?"

"There was an emergency and Kithania needed to go somewhere. Like that."

Reggie nodded and bowed before leaving my office. I fell into deep thoughts after that.

The Italian Underground Federation is a union of big mafias in Italy. Of course they are a part of Underground City, which makes them one of our people.

But just a month ago, they suddenly wished to talk to us and said they have some negotiations to make. Kithania decided to take the case since the others and I have something to take care of.

We didn't meddle with anything about it and entrusted everything to Kithania. And now, they were supposed to meet here in the Royal Village but she suddenly refused to see them.

May nangyari kaya? O tinamad lang siya?

Knowing her personality, that's not impossible.

"Ugh."

I took a deep breath and stood up. Just thinking about it won't help. I would just ask her myself.

I left my office and my house. I entered my car and drove towards Kithania's house.

The Royal Village is so huge I still need to use a car when I want to go somewhere in the village. Except from the other Kings' houses which are just beside mine.

And yeah, we are living separately now and so are the Queens. We are living with our families, though we are in the same village.

While driving, I saw some Italian Guards around the Central Hall where the meeting was supposed to happen. They are many but not a huge threat in case they decided to start a fight.
