Dark 48: Weakness And Strength

Black's POV

Yanagi and Kazumi Takahashi were born in Japan. They had a peaceful life there with their parents. Their father was a manager in a mall's department store while their mother is a full house wife.

Not until one day, both of their parents were found dead in their house. They were murdered by DO and it turned out that their father's brother was a Dark Guard who had betrayed the organization.

Their family, despite being innocent, was also blamed and punished to death. But they decided not to do the same with Yanagi and Kazumi and instead, the organization took them and trained them to become one of their dogs.

They changed their names and became loyal to the organization. Yanagi was known for being tech smart while Kazumi excelled on the battlefield.

Kazumi was sent to be a member of Yamashito Clan when Kenzo's father, a former General, was still alive. But the organization lost contact of him after his death and just found out that he joined Mystic Ruffians.

Yanagi on the other hand stayed in the organization and served anyone the organization will appoint as his master. They chose two different paths but it wouldn't erase the fact that they are brothers.

But the thing is, all of that happened without them knowing that it was DO who killed their parents. That it were the people who took them that also made them suffer.

And when the truth came out, Kazumi took action and planned to destroy the organization's most valuable treasure, which are the Queens. But it looks like Yanagi didn't want the same so instead, Kazumi just drugged him to have his support.

It was the organization's fault. Those two innocent boys just wanted justice for their parents' death. But they got none.

Because of that, I killed Razed.

He wanted to escape, to end his sufferings. As his master, I needed to do it for him so he can rest already.

I need him. I still need him but how can I refuse his plea when all he ever wanted is to rest?

And thinking that, I realized Ed Smith was wrong. Razed being weak wasn't the reason why he died. It's because of us.

We are weak. I am weak.

He was my informant and my responsibility. I should protect him and fight for him not just because he's an underling, but because he also became a friend to me.

But I wasn't able to do so. Because I am weak. And I'm a coward that can't even stand up for the things I believe in.

And it's that weakness that killed him.

I closed my eyes and covered it with my arm while still lying on the bed. I don't know what time or day is it. I'm so tired to even roam my eyes around and look at the clock.

After burying Razed on a decent and real cemetery and getting Stephen treated, we all went back here in the house. Hindi ako sigurado kung anong araw na ngayon. Because all I did was lie on my bed all day long.

There was a knock on the door but I didn't bother sitting up or even opening my eyes. I heard the door opening and felt three presences entering my room.

They are complete, huh?

"Black? Tulog ka ba?"

I answered them with silence.

"Hoy, Bato! Kung buong araw kang hihiga d'yan, baka biglang sumunod 'yang kaluluwa mo kay Razed—Aray!"

It looks they hit Stephen again. Serves him right.
