"Sooooo, what was that?" George asked, all three boys having a smirk planted on their faces as they were hanging out in Lando's driving room. "What was what?" Y/n answered being oblivious to what they meant. "We saw you and Charles messing around all the way from your motorhome to here" Alex said as if it was obvious.
"So? We've messed around with each other since kids, it's not any different now" A part of her knew what they meant, but she was afraid to answer that question. "You're not kids anymore, Y/n. We can see the way you look at each other" Lando interrupted her thoughts, and she almost chocked on air or the truth maybe, hm what's the difference?
"No, no, no. We are not going down that path again. Can't we just get some food and watch a movie instead?" she almost begged for them to change the subject, and lucky her prayers got heard and they got some food and watched a movie together.

The next day her nerves were back stronger than ever. Today was finally race day, but given her starting position, she had to work hard to get those points. She almost literally fell out of her bed because her legs were completely drained for anything called balance or energy. She was shaking like crazy, and she felt dizzy. Taking a cold shower help on the dizzy part, but her nerves were still getting in the way of her enjoying her breakfast. Which she didn't by the way.
It took her a long time to finish her breakfast, before she finally took of to the circuit. "Y/n can I have a word with you, please?" she was taken out of her thoughts when Mr. Binotto called for her. She nodded and followed him into his office at the motorhome. "Is something wrong?" she tried thinking of all the possible things that she could have done, but her mind was blank. "No, not at all, I just wanted to check in on you. Someone told me you didn't look too good this morning, is everything alright?"
No, everything wasn't alright, but she couldn't say that because she wanted to get good results today. "Oh, no I'm fine. Just a bit nervous, but I'm fine" she was lying her ass of, but she was getting rather good at that. "Okay good, but please tell us if anything's wrong, deal?" she quickly nodded. "Deal" before she left his office to get ready.
She spend at least 10 whole minutes sitting in a chair in her driving room wearing her racing suit and just starring into the wall. She wasn't usually the type to get this nervous before a race, but her mind was so messed up at the moment. On top of all the stress about being the first woman in F1, wanting to score points and having a bad starting position, Lando's words were stuck in her brain. And it was uncomfortable. 'You're not kids anymore, Y/n. We can see the way you look at each other'. He was right. They weren't kids anymore, but the second part she would have to disagree on. And even if it was right, which it wasn't. It could never even happen, so what was the point.
But none the less those words were stuck, and she tried to get them out, but failed miserably. "How long have you been starring at that wall?" she snapped out of her thoughts at the sound of the voice belonging to the thoughts she couldn't escape. "It's really becoming a habit for you to always burst into my room like that, huh?" she kept thinking about Lando's words, but for a brief moment she could ignore them. "Yeah well, as your teammate I kinda have to make sure you're good, so... you're good?"
She shook her head letting out a small laugh. "Yeah I'm fine" but this time he didn't respond with a sassy comment as usual. "You know, we may have been rivals since childhood, but I can tell when you're lying. What's wrong?" his look softened. There was no point in hiding it now. "I'm nervous as hell" she simply replied, not telling him the whole truth.
"You've got nothing to be nervous about. We've worked hard, and we're gonna do great today" it wasn't much, but it was helpful, and she gathered herself, and together they went to the pitlane and got ready.
Charles was starting P9, and he had good changes. "Okay Y/n, the important thing is a good start. You'll have to get past Stroll and Alonso to get to the points, but I believe in you." Riccardo's words made her tense up a bit, but she preferred to keep it that way gathering as much focus as possible.
"And it's lights out and away we go, Bottas of to a wrong start letting his teammate drive right pass him followed by Verstappen who also had a great start. Here we see Alex Albon desperate to pass Norris in his McLaren, and oh it looks like Perez and Sainz touch around the first corner allowing Ricciardo and Leclerc to get pass. And look at Y/l/n in that red Ferrari also of to a pretty good start closing in on Stroll in the pink Mercedes. She too must be desperate for points today"
"Box box, Y/n", "Copy" she said and drove her car into the pitlane. With 41 laps to go she was still P12, but she had faith. A quick second later she was out of the pitlane. "You are currently P14, but Gasly has yet to pit. Use that" and just when Gasly went into the pitlane she moved up to P13. Stroll was her next target.
"What a move! Y/n closing the gab to Stroll and took the outside into turn 6 forcing Stroll to let her pass. Now she's chasing down Alonso and Ocon in a desperate move for points."
Lucky for her, Ocon lost grib and drove straight into the gravel leaving her in P11 and to only chase down Alonso to get a point. "Well done, Y/n. Only 20 more laps to go, keep pushing"
"Another great move from the female Ferrari driver as she uses the exact same move on Alonso, and he never saw it coming. She's now within points, but can she hold her position?"
"Come on Y/n, keep pushing. The gab to Giovinazzi is 2.4" she took a deep breath and did her best to increase her racing pace. With only 5 more laps to go, this was her only chance.
"And look at that! It seems like Y/n is using DRS, and would you look at her go almost flying past Giovainazzi. Take a look ladies and gentlemen as the Tifosi are cheering loudly when Charles Leclerc crosses the line P2 with his teammate in P9. What a race everybody!"
"P9! That is P9, and Charles got P2. Podium AND double points, well done Y/n. That was a brilliant race!" she could really not understand what their team had just done, but she was over the moon. Not only did she get more points that she would have expected, but Charles got a podium as well? This was amazing. "YES! YES YES YES! Let's fucking gooooo!!" she was definitely happy.
A/N I am trying to use some of the right results, but it wont always be like that. Hope you still like it though <3
