After her little motivation speak yesterday at the park, Y/n felt more rested and ready for the race in a few minutes. She knew that she would have to fight and do a lot of hard work to get points, but a part of her, a strong part of her, was confident and ready to fight. Ready to get over Charles.
"Radio check please" she heard Riccardo's voice over the radio. "Loud and clear, sir. Ready to fight" she said gearing herself up. She really had her game face on today. "It's good to hear". She closed her eyes for a few seconds taking a deep breath and letting go. Her grib around the steering wheel tightened and she was ready.
"And it's lights out and away we go here at the Hungarian Grand Prix. And we see Max Verstappen off to a great start as he takes the lead in turn 1 followed by the tow Mercedes. Norris, Leclerc and Ocon fighting it out after turn 1, and it looks like Leclerc takes to the lead. Further behind we see other Ferrari driver, Y/n Y/l/n who is also off to a brilliant start getting right pass Kimi into turn 1."
The race was going great so far. with 33 laps to go and she had already gained three positions now being in P10. She really was fighting her way back. "Alright great job, Y/n keep pushing. Now Sainz is in front of you, get ready to attack" She fixed her eyes on the goal. To get pass Carlos. She increased her speed going smoothly around the corner getting closer and closer to Carlos. Suddenly something felt loose in the car, like it was loosing grib. "Uh guys, somethings' wrong with the car, I can't break!" Shit shit shit shit was her only thoughts.
The breaks had locked themselves somehow and she couldn't stop the car. She tried getting round the corner, but something beneath the wheels fell of and she was heading straight for the walls with 300 mph. "Shit!" she squeezed her eyes closed waiting for the big hit. She felt the gravel beneath the car, and the sudden pain that occurred in her body knocking her out. "Y/N?! Are you okay? Say something! Y/N?!" Riccardo's desperate voice sounded over her radio, but no answer.
"Oh that is a massive crash in turn 11. The young female Ferrari driver unable to break and she hits the wall! The red flag is shown, and the cars pull into the pitlane as medical and safety car is on it's way to the driver who has yet to come out her car."
Y/n was still sitting in her car passed out while the other drivers had all got out of their cars and watched the crash on the TV. George called the group chat, where Alex and Lando picked up. They were all watching the crash again, and it didn't look too good. Meanwhile Charles had just gotten out of his car. "What the hell happened?" He desperately asked the team and ran over to the screen watching his teammate still sitting in her car. "Is she okay?" he said trembling over his words.
"We don't know, she hasn't answered us, but medicals have just arrived" Charles was walking around the paddock anxiously waiting for an answer to what had happened to her, and if she was alright.
Back in Y/n's car she could slowly hear a bunch of mumbling or well just noise, but it was still dark around her. She felt hands on her shoulders. "Can you hear me? Nod if you can hear me?" Her head was hurting, but she managed to give a little nod. "Alright I'm gonna take your helmet of now, okay?" and once again she slowly nodded. She clenched her teeth together in pain when the helmet was being pulled of with what felt like much force. That's when the natural light was hitting her face, and she slowly opened her eyes starring at unfamiliar faces.
"Hey it's okay, you're doing great. Can you pull yourself out of the car?" she had barely realized what was going on, but did as the man told her. Though her whole body was sore, she tried pulling herself out of the car, but her arms were shaking and she ended up getting help from the medical people. She heard clapping around her and realized that she had crashed in front of everyone. Oh God this was bad. It mean she was out of the race. God fucking dammit, she thought.
Finally she was out of the car and pulled her balaclava off as well taking a deep breath in the fresh air. Her legs was all shaky and sore when she stood on the ground, but she refused to lay down, so instead two men were supporting her, when she walked to the little ambulance. Apparently they had to get her to a hospital and check up on her, though she tried getting out of that, but the medical people insisted.
Finally Charles could release a massive breath he had been holding, when he saw that she was awake and was getting out of her car. You could really see how shaken up she was, and it was breaking his heart. She winced when she took the first step and had to be supported by the medical to get into the ambulance. And then Charles was called to get back in his car. The thing he least wanted to do right now, but couldn't escape.
The rest of the race went like shit, and Charles ended up P11 not even getting any points. He was way too busy to think about Y/n was currently being taken to the hospital. After so many years of rivalry, he had developed other feelings for her. Especially after that night they spend together, he hadn't been able to keep her out of his mind, and it was driving him insane. How was it that after all these years of hating each other, mocking each other and always finding news ways to compete, he would begin to care about her in a different way than before?
And all he could think about was to go see her at the hospital, but he had to stay back because of stupid meetings and interviews and other bullshit things. So typical.
A/N Ahhh I had to spice it up a bit, don't worry more to come. <3
