Part 59

After chatting for a little while more, a doctor came in and told them that Charles had to rest a bit more. "You guys go, I'll meet you outside in a few minutes" Y/n said to the guys, and they agreed leaving the room so it was only Charles and Y/n left. "Is everything okay, love?" Charles asked as she turned around and sat on the bed looking at him. 

"I thought, I had lost you..." she began taking a deep breath, "And I've never been in a darker place before. I love you more than you'll ever know, and I don't ever wanna be apart from you again" she said wiping a single tear away from her cheek. "Oh Y/n..." Charles said, "I don't ever wanna be apart from you either" he said squeezing her hand gently. 

"I don't want our relationship to be a secret anymore, I wanna be able to hold your hand and kiss you in public, and tell the whole world that I love you" she said looking at Charles, who had a shocked expression on his face that turned into a smile. "I want that too, love. But how are we gonna do that?" he asked. 

"We'll go to Mr. Binotto and tell him everything. We'll make a special contract or something, I don't care! We're gonna figure it out. I mean, we've already proven that we are capable of driving despite having a relationship. If anything, I think it makes us stronger." she explained and Charles smiled. "I think, you're right. We'll go to Mr. Binotto together" he grinned and now none of them could hold it back anymore. 

Y/n moved closer to his and cupped his cheek before leaning in. At first the kiss was soft and careful because Y/n was afraid of hurting him, but when Charles deepened the kiss, she didn't hesitate for a moment, and she kissed him back as if she had been starving for months. 

Their lips brushed against each other, and both felt the butterflies in their stomachs as if this was their first kiss they'd ever shared. Eventually they had to pull apart and Charles had to get some more rest. He wouldn't be able to finish the season, but hopefully he'd soon be able to get out of bed and walk around a bit and begin training his whole body up again so he could be ready for the next season.

@y/n.official I have no words... first of all, I'm so incredibly happy that Charles is now awake and doing much better. It was weird not having him in the garage, and he really scared the shit out of me for a second. But thankfully he's okay, and even though he won't race for the rest of the season, I'm really looking forward to race with him again  🤍

Second of all, I still can't believe that we managed to win this Grand Prix, and I can't thank my amazing team enough. Thank you for believing in me, and providing me with this great car. I will never forget this day 💖

Y/n spend the next couple of days working out, visiting Charles at the hospital and bringing him some homemade food and board games and just keeping him company. Obviously Y/n felt a lot more relaxed and relieved now, and she was actually looking forward to the last couple of races even though she wouldn't be driving alongside Charles just yet. 

But overall she was so much more happy now, and every night she spend cuddled up on Charles hospital bed for a few hours, until Charles ordered for her to go back home to his apartment and get some proper sleep. 

Sadly, she now had to say goodbye for now because her along with the rest of the team were travelling to Turkey early next morning, and Y/n had yet to pack. 

"But I don't wanna leave now" she said with her head leaning against Charles' shoulder. "I know, and I wish you could stay as well, but you kinda have to go" he chuckled softly, stroking her arm. "What if I just turn in sick? I'll just pretend to be sick?" she joked sitting up and looking at Charles with a smirk. 

"Babe, come on it'll be fun. Turkey is always interesting, and I know you liked that track back in the days" Charles smiled and playfully rolled his eyes. Y/n sighed and gave in, "I hate it, when you're right" she frowned, but then leaned in and gave him a long soft kiss running her fingers through his messy hair. 

"You better go now, and remember to drive safely please" Charles said giving her another kiss, "I will, love you" she said getting up and grabbing all of her stuff. "Love you too, and I'll see you Monday" he smiled and she nodded, "See you Monday, and I'll call you when I land" she smiled and eventually left the hospital to go back home and pack her things for the next grand prix.
