Jason's POV

The two groups of wolves stand across from each other, the sound of growls crashing over the other group, hackles raised throughout the clearing as we stare each other down.

One of the wolves transforms into a naked man, his nudity making some of my wolves flinch, though the rouge doesn't seem to notice or care. "We can't let you through here. We know what you're here for. Just turn around and forgets out the pup, and keep your lives instead." The wolf threatens and I sneer, pissed that wolves would work with or for Nathan, not even wanting to know what he gave them for it.

And then I see Shannon.

Standing to the right of the speaker, only a few steps back. The hate in my chest deepens as I sneer at her from across the clearing before turning my attention to who's actually important.

I step forward into the clearing, ahead of the others, refusing to let wild mutts cause me away from getting Nick back into my arms. The rouge's eyes find mine, and I lift my lip up in a sneer, lifting my chin in a show of dominance, and after a moment he shrugs, my eyes watching his every movement.

"Have it your way." He said before I watched his body grow fur before falling to the ground, landing as the grey patchy wolf from before.

Luis walks up next to me and looks down, his black eyes deep and troubled as he does, but they turn to steal after a moment, the air around him getting hot as flames lightly skate his skin.

I turn back towards the wolves, just as Luis does, only for one of the rouges to step forward, pushing off into a run, and everyone else is quick to follow suit without hesitation. I watch's as the rogues get closer, some of them looking matted and beaten, blood dried on their wounds exposed to the elements.

STAND DOWN!

My growl that comes from my throat makes the ground bri rage below me, a few ears closest to me lowering in submission, but I don't pay attention.

I see two wolves hesitate at the sound and the advancing wolves, and they run on their heels and runs away, leaving seven of them left as the near out advancing figures.

I see the first wolves make contact, a gym teach jumping off of his hind legs to launch himself at a Rouge, his mouth closing around the neck of a brown fur wolf, a whine bursting from his lips as blood coats the both of them as they crash into the ground.

I turn my attention back towards tute wolves in front of me, and feign to my left before turning to jump on the wolf running towards my group on the right, my paws coming up to hold him to the ground, but he gets himself up before running towards me, my body bracing for the impact before the wolf's body meets mine, my jaws opening to clamp on the wolf's stomach, the woman howling in pain as i dug in deeper, the deep taste of blood coating my mouth, but I ignore it, biting and swiping at her face until she falls over a fallen tree, the already bloodied wolf now weak and fading as I leave her, turning only to find a large wolf, almost four inches taller than my own.

Before I can react, he throws himself at me, his jaws open, canines sharp and dripping with blood as he comes towards me. I flinch and brace myself, but someone pushes me out of the way, and I stumble, tripping over my own legs.

I look towards where I was, and find Luis standing there instead, his hands full of flames that dance and flicker around his fingers, reaching out only to be pulled back into the core of the flame.

I feel guilt wrack through me as I watch Luis use his powers for violence, knowing he's going to have to deal with his own guilt later, and I watch with solemn eyes as he throws out a stream of fire, hitting the large rouge in the side, and I glance at the fierce yowl that follows, the burns only enough to harm him, though the thought doesn't soothe the smell of burning fur and flesh from my nose, making my stomach churn.

Luis turns back towards me and his eyes hold tears that I haven't seen before, and I go to say something, but he speaks first.

"Go find him, otherwise, I did this for nothing." He tells me, and even though I want to argue, I nod, my mouth thinning before I turn on my heels and race towards Darren, tackling the rouge hes fighting before he bites the rogues neck, spiting out the taste of blood before turning towards me.

"Let's go." I tell him, and he nods before he sniffs the air, catching a trail before running towards the line of trees, the rest of the wolves too busy fighting to notice.

After a couple yards, I pick up the scent myself, Nicks's sweet one, along with two others that I hope I never smell again a day in my life.

I take the lead, pushing ahead of Darren, anger and fear propelling me forward, Ryan stoic and silent as he watches things play out, his anxiety almost perceptible, as if close enough to close.

Finally, after running for ten minutes, a cabin comes into view, smoke viking from the chimney, and my nose confirms that this is where Nick was taken. We both transform back to human to search inside, peaking through the trees and bush to scan the house.

I look over at Darren, two of Nick's brothers working to save him.

"Let's go." I tell him, and he nods before following me as I stand up and walk towards the cabin, pulling two pocket knives from my pocket before passing one to Darren.

Don't worry Nick.

I'm coming for you.
