Jason's POV

   I head out of the door, dodging my mom that leans in for a kiss, but sadly, Nicky doesn't look quite as lucky and I snort to myself as I head outside.

   I remember a time where I would just now be coming home, dirt, blood and all types of shit on my clothes as I passed by my siblings getting ready for school. My mom would try to talk to me, grabbing me my by arm but I would always shake her off, ignoring her because I know her priority was to get them to school.

    By the time she got home, I would be gone again.

    I miss those days.

    The freedom.

    The feeling of time passing so far without any responsibilities to hold you down. But it's putting spot lights on my runts and I won't let anything happen to them.

     'Except, you almost did.' Ryan tells me and I snarl at him, not wanting to fucking think about it. No one else know but me and two other people.

     One got sent away to some school and the other fell off the face of the earth, preferably dead.

     I unlock the car and hop in, turning it on as I lean my head back, my arm coming to rest behind my head as I wait on Clary and Nicky to hurry up so I can get this hell hole over with.

    Finally after another minute of so, they both come outside, Clary holding Nicolas' hand as she leads our little brother out of the house. She think she's being helpful but with the dark tint in his cheeks and the crease in his brow she's doing nothing but be annoying and embarrassing though Nick would never tell her that.

    I roll down the window as they make their way to the car and lean my arm out of it pointing to my sister. "Clary, can you go get a water bottle for Nick? We don't want him to get thirsty." I tell her, and she completely misses my mocking tone.

   "Of course!" She lets go of his hand with a smile before she turns around to race back in the house.

     With a quickness I've only seen when it comes to food, Nick scrambles towards the car, pulling open the back door to slide in the back behind me. As he buckles up, I look up through the rear view mirror and find his eyes.

    "You could just tell people to leave you the fuck alone." I tell him raising my brow but he shakes his head a little violently and turns his head, a dark blush coating his cheeks rapidly at the thought of saying that to someone.

    "I don't want to be mean." He tells me softly and it tugs at my heart strings before I look away as well, squinting out my window.

     "Standing up for yourself isn't being mean, it's telling someone that just because you're small doesn't mean you're someone to fuck with. But I got you runt, if anyone fucks with you, you'll let me know right?" I ask him, expecting a quick and easy assurance but surprisingly there's nothing.

    'Somethings not right.' Ryan says, attention resting on our conversation, and I agree.

    I look up in the mirror again and I see him biting his lip as of in thought but before he can say anything the door next to me is being opened and Clary jumps in with a water bottle in hand, turning to give it to Nick with a proud smile on her face. "Here you go, baby brother." She says and he grabs it softly before meeting my eyes in the mirror and I smirk making his own lips twitch up into a laugh that he tries to hide from our sister.

     "Alright, runts, buckle up. Let's go." I warn them and the sound of seatbelts clicking fills the air for a second before I throw the car in drive and pull out of the driveway.

    The drive to school is quick and quiet, the only sound coming from humming on my part though I can feel both of my siblings listening. I used to sing for them all the time growing up, songs I heard on the radio and even ones I made up myself. I'm not sure what it is since I'm definitely not a mermaid, but I've always had a good singing voice.

   Not very interesting but very attractive I've heard.

    I pull into the parking lot of the school and park the car, turning towards Clary who's staring at Nick.

    "Clarissa, he's almost sixteen, he can walk into a school by himself. Let him breath a little." I tell her and she frowns at me as if ready to argue against me, but I don't care, she babies our brother way too damn much to be healthy. Just as she opens her mouth to argue against me, to my surprise it's Nick's who's voice gets heard.

   "Please?" Is all he says and Clary turns towards him in shock before she frowns slightly and nods her head in confusion.

   "Oh. Well, okay. I'll see you guys at lunch." She says and I can tell her feelings a little hurt. I think she likes the idea of someone depending on her. When she finds her Mate, her lover is definitely going to have their hands full. She waved to us softly before she gets out of the car, walking up to her group of friends sitting on the benching in the front courtyard.

   I look at Nick in the mirror and I smirk at him. "Was that so hard?"

    He nods his head rapidly and I laugh, shaking my head at his dramatics, knowing it's probably from his wolf and not him.

    "See you later." I tell him and we both open our doors, stepping out of the car and I can feel all eyes fall to me but I ignore them as I always do, turning towards my brother to give him my best smile and a warning. "If I find out about an asshole bothering you, I'll take the charges this time." I tell him, my mouth still curved upwards.

   Nicks face turns red and I turn to walk away, my gait unhurried as eyes fall on me in curiosity and disgust, but I don't care.

   I walk through the doors of the school and get ready for another boring day.

~~~~~~~~~~
I love the two of them so much, Jason is the best and ai don't care what anyone has to say about it. I'm acting feeling pretty good today guys. Usually on days like this I would plan like 20 chapters but I only have 6 planned for the day and most are short stories.
Let's see how this kind of planning works for me.
