My day has started off not so favourably. Two foxes squealed as they tumbled outside our window, carelessly hitting against anything in their proximity. I'm not too sure how they got onto our property. Maybe through the gate? It's not exactly in the best condition security wise. The lock had to be removed yesterday afternoon due to it sticking.

Papá has said he's replacing it today, however I doubt that after his night out. He isn't hungover, he's just on a caffeine crash. Stefan too. Look at them, two boyfriends making stupid decisions together. At least they're happy. I don't expect either of them to do much today. Hey, they both deserve a break.

Maya and I are currently in the library. She has picked three very large books to read, but this certainly isn't all she's picking up. I'm here to hold them - that's it. I don't think I could be more bored than I am right now. I really don't understand how people can cope with a place so quiet. I'm feeling very isolated in a room full of people because no one's talking. The only sounds surrounding me are of those turning pages, writing, highlighting, typing.

Four... five... six... how many books is she getting?! I think she's settled on these six. Two are relating to art history, two are modern history, two are romantic looking novels. I don't know how she finds the time to read, do coursework, study for exams, have hobbies and still get a full night's sleep. A mystery to everyone. She just does it all and no one will stop her.

M: [opening umbrella] See? It wasn't that bad. [gives umbrella]

E: It's so... [shivers] I just don't like it. How can people cope with it being so quiet?

M: You're just from a noisy home if you think about it. Six other members living with you, four professionals working all over the place, a girlfriend who likes to have sex, busy place.

E: Are you suggesting something?

M: Not really. Though, I think my period's due. Cramps.

E: [thinking] We just changed our bed sheets too...

M: It happens. [sighs] Once we get into the cafe we can get nice and cosy.

E: I just want summer back. I'm fucking miserable.

M: I can tell. Do you want a new jumper?

E: Yeah.

M: We can get you a new jumper if you want.

E: Can I get a yellow one?

M: If you want a yellow jumper, you can get one.

E: [gives umbrella to Maya and walks into cafe]

M: [puts umbrella down and follows]

E: [looking at menu] Maya can you help me?

M: Let me see. [reads] What are you thinking of having?

E: I was thinking of having a hot chocolate of sorts, and some toast.

M: It says here that there's three types of hot chocolate - milk, white and dark. With or without cream and or marshmallows. Which do you want?

E: [thinking] Ah... I think I'll go for a dark one.

M: Toast wise they have regular, whole wheat, white sourdough, brown sourdough, bagels, scones... how do you toast a scone?

E: With a scone toaster.

M: [looks at]

E: What?

M: Never mind. Which one do you want?

E: Honestly a bagel wouldn't be bad right now.

M: I think I'll get the same, y'know. Anything else you'd like?
