[February 1st 2020]
This day four years, I was utterly miserable. My dad has been married to Priscilla for a week, and that week was the hardest one of my life. I wasn't able to sleep out of fear, I concentrated the vast majority of my time on the demos of The White One Is Evil. I refused to go to school because of how depressed I was - the only reason I returned was because Maya promised me something if I went back.
The story is far happier today, as today is the day that my dad is marrying Stefan. It is a mere sixty-four days since they got engaged during my show, but they just wanted to get it over and done with. The wedding itself is going to be quite small - myself, Maya, Dan, Casey, Abuelo, Abuela, Val and Olivia, alongside my mom, Vivienne and Eden. There is a reason for this though - we are in Buenos Aires for this wedding. Buenos Aires being the host city of choice is down to a little bit of family history. Abuelo's mother, my great grandmother, recently received posthumous honours for her contributions to the development of the city. My dad and Stefan thought it would be nice to have a wedding in the summer.
As per my dad's request, I shall be in full drag and I shall be putting him into full drag. He has decided to fully embrace the gender thing - Maya and I created a fully custom dress for him according to his tastes. He has requested a dress made with white lace, sleeveless but with a floor-length skirt, a white ruffled jacket to wear over during the evening. His wig of choice is a long, black one that has been curled and is matched with a white flower crown. For his makeup, he specifically requested a Naomi Smalls inspired eye, leaning more on what she had for the Adrenaline lip sync. For his shoes, he has chosen a chunky white heel with floral lace on the sides.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our time in Buenos Aires. I was last here in 2017 where I attended Soy Luna En Concierto as part of a larger trip to the city. We've done the usual tourist things like visit El Tigre and, naturally as we do, we have visited the sites featured in the Disney telenovelas. Abuelo has taken us to his childhood spaces, introduced us to move of his family and friends. We don't necessarily stick out as tourists as we can already navigate most of the city from memory, and we were raised to speak Rioplatense Spanish so our speech doesn't sound too obvious. Hell, we even popped over to Montevideo for a couple of nights as it's so close to the city.
Focusing on today though, we are currently staying in the same villa that we are having the wedding in. It's very modern, decorated in light whites and creams. There are plenty of bedrooms for us to stay in with extra being used for wedding day prep. Maya and I have a room, Dan and Casey, Val and Olivia, Abuelo and Abuela, Graham and Stefan, Vivienne and Eden, and my mom. My mom chose to have a room on her own as she is not fortunate enough to get away from work despite being on a family related trip. She's not working too often though. Thankfully.
E: [applying eyeshadow on Graham] Just think about it. In an hour's time, you'll be a married man. Again.
G: It feels surreal. Things are happier this time, and much warmer.
E: Definitely. Buenos Aires was a good idea. We're away from the rain and misery of London, but we are also connecting to our family history while we visit, y'know.
M: [adding final touches to wig]
E: Do you want to do your own eyelashes once I do eyeliner?
G: Yeah, sure.
E: Right, stay still then. [applies eyeliner] There.
G: [looks in mirror] Oh my god... [smiling]
E: [wraps arms around Graham] You look amazing papá
G: I feel amazing.
M: [comes over] And you are amazing.
