TW: Discussions of abuse
A sleep, a slumber,
Hijacked by the thunder,
Jerked out from my rest,
I look out the window to my left.
As the skies boom through,
The earth proves true,
We all feel the same way,
On these dark and miserable days.
E: [lying lopsided in bed]
M: Evin, are you going to get up?
E: No.
M: Why not?
E: Too tired.
M: It's 11am, you've slept plenty.
E: [rises] It doesn't feel like it. [nuzzles blanket]
M: [observing]
E: The world's weight is constantly dragging me down, y'know? The skies are darkening over my happiness, I haven't had a true smile in over a decade. I can't remember the last time I felt content with the world, with its harkening... The world has continuously punished me for my additional needs. New barriers appear every single day because I can't do something exactly the same way as everyone else. I can't read their instructions, I don't hear their commands. [throws blanket over head and flops onto pillow]
M: Well you aren't going to get anywhere if you're behaving like that.
G: [knocks door] Can I come in?
M: Sure.
G: [comes in] I'm about to hea- [looks at bed]
M: Hey, Evin.
E: [sits up] What?
G: What's wrong darling? Are you just tired?
E: Yeah.
G: Take it easy today then. I'm going out now so I'll see you later.
E: [reaches out for hug]
G: [hugs] See you later darling.
M: See you later.
G: I'll be back by four.
E: PM?
G: Yes.
E: Have fun.
G: I will. Permiso. [leaves room]
M: Well isn't that nice? [gets up from desk and walks to bed] What are we gonna do with you today then? Sleeping all day isn't the option. [slowly moves hand across Evin's back] Hmm?
E: I don't want to do anything.
M: Why's that? You couldn't be that tired?
E: Maya, it's not that.
M: Then what is it?
E: I... kinda... [throws head into hands] no.
M: [pets] What's wrong?
E: I just don't want to do anything today.
M: And why is that?
E: I've been doing stuff non stop, I haven't really had time to sit about.
M: If that's what you want to do then... just don't sleep because then you won't tonight, okay?
E: [nods]
