Angie cleared her throat after she was done with her telepathic scolding of her brother. "Yes honey", her Mom, Nolan Donners said, "you need something?" They were at the table for dinner. Nolan was a fantastic cook. Angie got her blonde hair from her Dad, Connor Donners but Nolan was beautiful. She had her brown hair in shoulder length curls. Her doe eyes and high cheekbones announced her face.

"She has a date". Mike laughed. Mike was thirteen years old. He stole Nolan's features but not her character. Mike was known for mischief and he had a sword for a tongue. "I do not! Eww!" Angie retorted. Dave chuckled at this but continued staring at his phone nonetheless. At least until Nolan yanked it with a look that said 'no phones at the table'. He rolled his eyes and dug into the spaghetti and meatballs.

"I'll get to you honey", Nolan was referring to Angie while she turned to Mike, "but first, I wanna know why your teacher called asking me how the trip was going".

"You said not to tell anyone about your new job and I was stuck". He bent his head. He was still lying. Nolan checked Angie and Dave's faces for an approval of his story. They nodded their heads rhythmically. Nolan sighed, "I was talking about your father. I wanted to surprise him", she clarified, "what were you gonna ask Angie?"

Angie was suddenly nervous. She had never had a reason to ask her parents for stuff like this. Would her mom agree? Would her mom ask questions? Can Dave stop chewing so loudly? Were her thoughts. "I- erm- I got invited to a sleepover. Not me but Felicity got invited and she wanted me to come. It's fine if I can't go 'cause I don't really want to..."

"Whose house?" Nolan cut her rambling short.

"Maggie Pitters?" She wasn't even sure why she said it like a question.

"Maggie Pitters?" Her Mom was confused, "I don't recall you both being friends especially with the whole Felicity thing you had going on". "We're not friends and it's a general girls thing", Angie shrugged, "I'm going because Felicity wants me too. She never gets to do anything because of me. I feel like I owe her". "If it's what you want", Nolan dropped her fork, "I'll make a choice after I call Celine".

Angie was praying for her Mom to say 'no'. "When did Mom and the Pitters become buddies that go by first names?" Dave asked finally turning his attention to them. "Since Dad became a councilman, dumbass". Angie smacked his head with her answer. "Dumbass. Has a nice ring". Mike whispered too loudly. "You use it in front of Mom and I'll tell her that you hit the fire alarm in school". "Technically, I was thrown into the fire alarm by bullies". Mike put up a defense. Angie glared him down and he huffed. She smirked at her victory.

Nolan sat down just then, "so I spoke to Celine and there's adult supervision and she is excited to meet you", she smiled, "she was so glad I called. We were close in high school but things went off. With your Dad being a councilman, we're hoping to hit the waves". Her kids gave her weird looks. "It's...oh forget it. The point is, you can go honey and Dave would pick you up tomorrow". "It's fine. Felicity has a car", Angie stopped Dave from protesting, "she actually borrowed it from her cousin but we like to say it's hers". Angie burst into laughter and they joined her. It was nice to have a normal family dinner.

"Girl, you have got to stop worrying". Felicity said while pulling her. "Easy for you to say. They know you". Angie frowned. At the last minute, she started having bad feelings about the night. Not butterflies from being nervous but a strong bad feeling. Her mind had also be replaying that stupid dream she had in English classes. She was frustrated. "It'll be fun". Felicity assured her. She sighed and gave her friend a sarcastic smile. "Yay!" Felicity cheered.

It was a black american girl who opened the door. Angie couldn't remember seeing her a lot so she guessed she just transfered. "Cute PJs", the girl complimented, "come in". Angie wasn't amazed by the house probably because she grew up in one. Felicity had no idea about their old house and she liked to keep it that way. "I haven't seen you around. New?" Angie only noticed that the girl hadn't left their sides after the question. "No. I just don't like people". Angie was blunt with her answer. The girl seemed impressed. "Nice to meet you, Angie and Felicity. The name's Mitchell", Mitchell smiled as she walked away.

"Creep". Angie muttered. "C'mon! She was nice", Felicity nudged her softly, "let's mingle". And that was what they did. Angie was tired from introducing herself multiple times even to Maggie who she had to speak to today (being lab partners and all). "Girls! I just had the brightest idea!" Lin exclaimed. "Coming from you it can't be bright". Maggie snarled and her cohorts laughed. "You need a brain to decide that, sweetie". Lin shot back. Angie chuckled but quickly covered it up. Lin Shin Ye had the same fire as she did years ago.

"As I was saying before I was rudely interrupted", she glanced at the fuming Maggie for a moment, "let's play 'Light as a feather, stiff as a board'". "That shit never works". A random girl said. "Your opinion doesn't matter sweetheart". Lin replied sharply. "Is my Mom the only one who warned about this game? Something about it being evil?" Johanson who was mostly called Jo pointed out.

They all murmured because they actually recalled something like that. "I don't believe it", Felicity shrugged, "it's not as bad as Truth or Dare or all the others. I'm the one you guys should levitate". "Thank you, Felicity", Lin said, "I obviously want to prove all you losers wrong". "I'll join". Both Jo and Mitchell said. "Wanna join new girl?" Angie didn't need a genius to tell her that the question was directed at her. Felicity gave her puppy eyes and she groaned inwardly.

The four of them placed two fingers of each hand under Felicity's body. "Light as a feather", they began the chant, "stiff as a board". Angie could have sworn that she heard a clock tower bell in her head at the third chant. Slowly, Felicity's body rose to mid air. "What the hell?!' Angie pulled her hand causing Felicity to drop with a thud. She must have been losing her mind because they did not just float her closest friend.

The same look of terror was spelled out on all their faces. "Angie! Calm down!" Felicity ignored the pain in her back to speak to her friend. "It's just a party trick". She was just as confused but she knew Angie needed to hear this. "She obviously hasn't been to any. She can't understand". Maggie sneered. "Don't listen to her". Felicity was too late though. Angie was fed up.

"We've had dozens of sleepover, Maggie and the only reason why you can't sleep yet is because you need daddy to check your closet for monsters. He always did!" She snapped, "whatever happened was not normal and you all know it". "This is why I never wanted to come", she whispered to Felicity, "I'm going home".

She left them dumbfounded in the room and she made sure to slam the door at her exit.
