1985"We are in high school", Tatiana cheered, "can you guys believe it?!" Sophia and Nolan nodded. This was their first day in Bresten High as Freshmen. The three of them walked in. They were psyched for their first day. "Hello there", a girl greeted them, "my name is Avery Thombson. I'm the class president. I'm guessing you're freshmen". "Yeah? What gave it away?" Nolan smiled. "Well everyone else is in the hall for assembly and you three are just walking in". "I thought school starts by 8?" Sophia asked. "Normally...but today is the first day of the new session", Avery's smile did not waiver, "c'mon I'll take you there".
They followed her closely. Nolan was admiring the school. She thought it would be small on the inside but it was fairly large. The assembly hall was packed. Once they had sat down, the doors opened and more freshmen came in.
"Uh-oh", Tatiana rolled her eyes, "being bling is here too". Nolan checked what Tatiana was looking at. The girl was headed towards them. "Hi Nolan, Sophia and Tatiana", the girl said, "not a surprise to see you here". "Can't say the same about you", Nolan sneered, "I thought Daddy was going to take you to Canada, Irene. What happened?"
Irene was about to reply but an annoyed voice cut her short. "Can you move? Some of us haven't gotten seats". It was none other than Kimberly Frey. "You are rocking that got look, honey". Tatiana blew a kiss and faced the stage again. Kimberly pushed Irene aside and went up.
Irene huffed in annoyance and also went to look for a seat. She found a girl who had her head stuck in a novel. "Is that sear empty?" She asked the girl. "Yeah. Whatever. Do what you want". She answered not taking her eyes off the book. Irene found her odd. She couldn't imagine that was book was that interesting. She rolled her eyes and yanked it from the girls hands, "hi. My name is Irene", she said innocently, "What's yours?" "Celine" She replied with a whisper. "Nice name".
Present Day...
"Do you ever wonder how our parents were in high school?" Jo suddenly asked as they walked down the hallways. "I mean to think that they walked down these halls", she continued, "or the thought that they were once friends". "That's what the magic does". Angie added. "Well, we're not them", Lin said confidently, "we'll stick together through thick and thin". "Of course". Mitchell said.
They were stopped by a sophomore. "Looks like someone had too much candy". Lin teased. "The whole school has been waiting for you", the girl rushed, "some seniors convinced the principal to throw a Valentine's day party". "Really?" Jo asked, "that had never happened before". "Well it's totally true", the girl nodded, "and majority voted that Lin be in charge of decorations. It had been a disaster since yesterday. Can you help?" "Sure, sweetie. Style is my middle name". Lin answered. "I thought it was Shin". Angie chuckled.
The girl's phone started ringing. "I have classes you know?" She said to the caller, "she's gonna help". The girl's face changed to a panicked one. "I'll be right there". The girl hung up. "Drama room. Anytime you want. Bye!" And she was gone. "Looks like Lin Shin Ye already has a lot on her hands". Jo laughed. "Not my fault the seniors have no sense of fashion".
"Wow! Someone told me you could change completely", a voice said from behind them, "I guess seeing is believing". They all turned around. " Lyon?" Mitchell quirked her brows. "Scarlett. This really is a small town", Lyon smiled, "I was actually greeting Lin Ye".
Lin clenched her fists and glared at him. "Please, I'm a fan", he smirked, "sorry about your loss by the way". Lin just turned around and stomped away. Jo eyed him and followed Lin. Angie crossed her arms and accessed the guy. "That was unnecessary". Mitchell frowned. "C'mon! You've seen the Pound and what happens there". He put up a defense. "And so?" Angie sassed, "you have some nerve walking over here and talking trash".
Mitchell touched Angie's arm but Angie removed it. "Whoa! I'm not your enemy". Lyon raised his hands. "You better avoid it because I don't do well with people who mess with my friends", Angie diverted her attention to Mitchell, "stick up for your friends next time, Scarlett". She said the fake with venom. Angie scoffed and walked away.
Mitchell sighed and ran her fingers through her head. "What are you doing here, Lyon?" She asked frustrated, "you don't look like you should be in High school". "I would pretend to not be offended by that statement", he chuckled, "I actually did a few grades again in middle school. It's tough being dull". "Why transfer then?" "I don't know. Bresten seems interesting these days".
Angie paused. She could hear something. She tired to concentrate her ears. She could hear voices. She looked to her right and all she saw was lockers. She turned to her left and she saw a classroom. She entered slowly. It was empty. The doors slammed shut as soon as she was fully in. She wasn't surprised though.
Suddenly, a man was standing in front of the board. "Erm sir?" She was being cautious. The man didn't reply. He just kept on scribbling. Angie felt her shoes were wet. She looked down and saw blood. It was like a flood of blood. She lifted her eyes. This time the man's head was off his body. It was on the mug and the eyes were white.
It was starting to make a little sense. The hand stopped writing and the body dropped with a thud. There were two things on the board. 'February' and '1986'. Angie furrowed her eyebrows. It became confusing all over again. Two scaly hands grabbed her throat from behind. She was tapping the hands for them to pull away but it was only getting worse. "Tick tock". A voice that was familiar and peculiar at the same time whispered in her ears.
"I really thought we could have a break but no something dramatic has to happen". Angie heard. She took a feel breath. The scent of drugs told her where she was. She groaned and opened her eyes. "Angie! Gosh! You scared us". Jo sat down beside her. Lin was leaning on the door. "I need water". She said.
Jo handed her a bottle of water. "Care to explain why we had to find you in hallway unconscious?" Lin was harsh in her tone. Angie wanted to complain but she remembered that Lin had the side in her personality. "I saw something. Like a warning or vision or something. There was blood everywhere and the head was..." "Slow down! You're not making any sense". Jo urged.
Angie exhaled, "I think I saw a vision of some sort", she said, "it showed me blood, a dead person and a date". "Oh no!" Lin whined, "I am way too young to die". "I don't think it has to do with our death specifically", Angie stood up, "the date however was in the past". "No! No! We are not time traveling again". Jo shook her head.
"Maybe we don't have to go back", Lin shrugged, "I mean our parents were sophomores that year. We could ask". "Not to be a downer but they barely have memories of what happened then". Jo quipped. "The memory spell is temporary now, remember?" Lin argued. "We don't have time to wait". Angie said. She intentionally excluded the voice she heard. She wanted to be sure. And she could confirm from Daniel later.
"If you see Mitchell, give her the update". Angie told Jo. "I thought she was with you". Jo was confused. "I left her with Lyon". Angie spat. They all gasped at the same time when they felt the tug.
"Well, I gotta go", Mitchell smiled, "see you around". "You can't just leave, Mitchell. We still have a lot to catch up on". Mitchell raised her eyebrows. She was wondering how he knew her real name. "We can always talk later". She was walking backwards slowly. " Too bad...I can't wait". A baseball bat collided with her head.
