"That was how she told us those words", Andreas finished his story, "the fact that she is not here with you means she's been killed". "She was killed by a woman named Nolan", Angie quipped, "did Maggie mention anything regarding that name?" "I don't think so". Andreas looked at Vinci. Vinci just shrugged. He turned back to the girls and said, "I do know that she mentioned a John"."Mr Dhawnren?"
" Yes. That's him. She said that he had a lot to do with Goldie. We were supposed to trust him fully because he was the only one who would determine if Goldie lived or not".
"That's why they took him. They wanted him to perform some kind of task with the Or of Light". Angie muttered in realization. "They have him?" Andreas' eyes widened in panic. Jo used this as a way to join in, "we believe his alive", she said, "he's the only one that can do the ritual and if they had brainwashed him already, we wouldn't be having this conversation".
Andreas relaxed at that. "We came here because we want to protect Goldie", Mitchell added, "whatever the secret society is...they can only be stopped with her help". Angie had gone quiet. She was having that feeling again. The feeling that they were missing something important. "Angie?" Lin pulled her out of her thoughts.
"I'm sorry", she apologized, "I'm just having a weird feeling...like there's something we're not seeing". "How so?" Vinci asked her. "First of all, Maggie should have mentioned Nolan to you both because she has been our biggest threat yet", Angie explained, "and she would have talked about the society and what they ought to gain from this. Maggie would omit that kind of information".
They all pondered on it. "Unless, she didn't", Lin frowned, " Vinci duck!" Lin had thrown an energy blast at the evil woman. It hit her in the chest but she endured. "Thank you Angie", Nolan smirked, "thank you for leading me right to her". Nolan's eyes were filled of black ink and she stretched her hands towards the girl.
Angie noticed that Nolan's hands were black. It was looking like decayed flesh. Angie levitated the vase and smashed Nolan over the head with it. Nolan picked out the pieces from her face and laughed. "I can play games all day". She said evilly.
Vinci quickly grabbed Goldie and Andreas. They stood behind the girls. "You picked the wrong day, Nolan". Angie said through gritted teeth. Nolan frowned and yelled, "you used to call me Mom!" The scream shook the foundation of the house but determination burned in the eyes of the girls. They weren't going down without a fight.
Almost immediately, the windows broke and hooded figures swarmed the room. The girls turned their backs to each other. "Mitchell can you a make a shield for the Luxs?" Angie whispered, "this is part of her plan. If they run away, she will capture them". Mitchell nodded and snapped her finger. A light blue semicircle covered the three people. "It won't come down as long as I don't go down". Mitchell told Angie. Angie smiled and said, "no one is going tonight".
In four different directions, they went. The figures had powers too and they could move fast. Angie closed her eyes and let the energy build. She opened them and a furious red glowed. She was running in the shadows and taking them out one after the other.
Mitchell was holding up pretty go. She received a kick to her side which made the shield shake. "Bastard!" She cursed and punched the guy. She grabbed both his hands, twisted them and slammed them on tgs ground. "Damn!" She smiled, "now I know why Lin is all cocky".
Jo was muttering spell after spell. She had the physical strength of a cat so she knew fighting would be against her. She was extremely good in her craft so she used that instead. Blue spark escaped her hands and three men floated in the air. She mumbled a few words and their bodies started joining together like a chemical reaction. In a few seconds, they had disintegrated to microscopic organisms. "I am so gonna ace medicine". She cheered herself.
Lin had broken a part of the table and was using it as a weapon. This was her other side showing. Her father's champion that had caused the deaths of many. She didn't show fear as she stabbed and broke bones. The blood that splattered on her face was of little concern. She made sure she avoided their hearts but she injured them bad enough to be powerless.
Angie was so proud of her beat friends. They were fighting well while maintaining their humanity. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Nolan in front of the shield. He hand lifted to touch it but Angie acted quick. Nolan was pulled from the Luxs and thrown into a wall. Angie took in her figure. She was disgusting.
"I thought killing you would make me a monster", Angie said, "turns out, I would be doing the world a heart favor". Nolan gave a sinister laughter. "Kill me then!" She barked. Angie smirked, "I could", she replied, "but it looks like you're already dying. Rushing it wouldn't be so fun". Nolan yelled and charged for her.
Angie easily dodged. Nolan fell face first to the ground. Angie stretched her hands and Nolan was floating in mid air. Angie let her eyes grow violently. "You're never gonna hurt anyone ever again". Angie muttered with hate. Nolan was shocked by the color but she knew where she saw them first.
Nolan suddenly started pointing at Angie. All the hooded figures stopped fighting the others and faced Angie. Angie threw Nolan to a side. "What the hell did she say?!" Lin screamed. "We're not letting them take Angie". Jo moved forward. One of the figures turned around and touched Jo's neck. Jo's legs turned to jelly and she was on the floor faster than she could say a word.
"Jo!" Mitchell called out. Mitchell was already feeling weak. She was terrified. She didn't know how long she could hold the shield. Her friends were counting on her. She didn't want to let them down. Lin had moved to Jo's side. Jo was unconscious. "What did you do?!" Lin yelled.
Another was marching towards her but she quickly turned invisible. 'Lin, don't do anything!' Angie sent a sharp warning through her mind. 'What?! I can't let them take you'. Lin replied. 'I'll be fine. I promise'.
As soon as Angie gave that message, Mitchell passes out and Angie was made unconscious. Even in her invisible state, Lin felt nothing but despair. Goldie was dragged off. Andreas and Vinci were punched till they fainted. Angie was carried out. Jo and Mitchell were far from recovering. Their world just turned upside down.
Jason skipped the pack meeting. He was feeling sick and it was ten times worse when he was beside Grayson. He concluded that it had to do with their mate connection. He also needed air after the weird diagram he saw in the woods. Those werewolves were arranged. It wasn't a coincidence that they arrived there at that time. Jason was scared to death that he was in the middle of it all.
"When I said we would hang out, I never said you should bring your depressed mood along". Xander chuckled between cleaning glasses. "Sorry", Jason forced a smile, "it's been a day". "Love trouble?" Xander raised an eyebrow. "No" Jason shook his head, "I'm just sick and that rarely happens. I hate the feeling, ya know?" Xander nodded.
Jason ordered and the two soon launched into a full gist. Xander was telling a story of a customer who didn't know a shit about ice cream. "It was weird and freaking funny", Xander laughed, "he just stood there asking 'what's a vanilla?' 'Isn't mint grass?' 'What's with all the colors?' 'Is this snack any sweet?'" Jason laughed too. "What was he doing in an ice cream place if he didn't know what ice cream is?" Jason said in between laughter.
The moment was broken by a silent groan from Jason. Xander obviously picked up on it. "You okay?" He asked with concern. "Nothing to worry about", Jason joked, "it's gonna take more than a stomach bug to pull me down". "I know you're lying, Jas", Xander frowned, "I think you should call Grayson to come get you".
Jason nodded and pulled out his phone. Grayson picked up after the second ring. "You have a lot of explaining to do". Grayson said harshly. "I'm sorry, can you come get me?" Jason rushed. He was feeling a dark pit in stomach like something bad was going to happen.
Some hooded figures walked into the place. Xander gave a low growl. Hold up! Growl? Jason thought as he turned around. He saw the figures with their swords and the phone mistakenly dropped from his hands with Grayson shouting on the other side, "hello?! Jason?! Say something!"
